2nd Year Footballers Secure Home Semi-Final and Top Their Group!

St. Mary’s CBS secured a victory over Gorey CS in Round 3 of the South Leinster Championship, winning 5-15 to 0-03. The match had its challenging moments, particularly early on. Gorey CS put in a spirited effort and worked hard to disrupt CBS’s rhythm, but ultimately found it difficult to break through a resolute defence.

St. Mary’s CBS gradually found their stride, with Noah Lalor opening the scoring before Adam Whelan and Ethan O’Connor added goals to give them a strong lead. In the second half, Cillian Hendy and Tommy Tynan found the net as well, but the result was as much about the defensive performance as the goals scored. CBS’s backline was solid throughout, limiting Gorey CS’s scoring chances and ensuring the game was kept under control.

They will take confidence from topping their group and earning a home semi-final, but tougher challenges lie ahead as they look to build on this performance in the next round
