Congratulations to our 1st Year Hurling team who took part in a blitz last week in the Centre of Excellence ️

‍️Walk to school week takes place  from Wednesday 9th - Friday 11th of October. We are asking students and parents to make an extra effort this week to either walk to school/work or walk part of the way there. ‍️ Walking to school is one of the best ways to start the day with multiple benefits to student's physical and mental health. It also has a positive impact on academic performance and behaviour with higher levels of concentration and focus.
What’s more, walking is great for the environment by reducing the number of cars at the school gate, reducing congestion, air pollution and road safety issues. @laoiscoco #FromEachTheirBest #Travel #GreenSchool

This message is regarding the consent distribution process for the Nasal Flu Vaccine. This message includes consent information.


In order to make this process as easy and efficient as possible, we have setup an online consent form which you can find at:




Please also see attached letter and one information leaflet. HSE leaflet will be in the next post. 

A few parents in a couple schools have had issues accessing the links so to combat this, here is a link directly to a typeform, same form but just not on our website. This should work okay for parents;

Another fix would be to manually search  edupharma.ie and select "I am a parent" this will bring them to the form.

Tuesday 8th October is our 3rd Year Parent Teacher Meeting from 4.15-6.45 pm. Classes will end at 3.45 for all students.

Monday 7th   Musical Workshop

Your teachers will be in touch with you on the timings for these. PE uniform allowed today.

 

Tuesday 8th  TY Go Quest

All TY students will be gone all day. PE uniform allowed. €10 for the bus.

 

Wednesday 9th   Work Experience

All TYs will be gone all day. 

 

Thursday 10th   Musical Workshop

The very best of luck to The Heath Minors and Park Ratheniska Minors who face each other this evening in the Midlands Park Hotel U17 B Football Championship Final at 7PM in the Centre of Excellence.
Let’s get out and show some support to our St. Mary’s CBS pupils in what’s sure to be a cracking game!

Students Receive JP II Award

On Friday 27th, 6 of our students received their Pope John Paul II Award for volunteering for both parish and community service. The ceremony took place at Carlow Cathedral with over 150 young recipients from all over the diocese in attendance.

Sad Passing of Adored Past Pupil, Bobo Lawal

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of adored past pupil, Bobo Lawal. Bobo was most known and loved for his fantastic personality, infectious laugh and his kind heart. He played rugby and hurling for St. Mary’s CBS and gave a wonderful speech at the 2022 Graduation.

 A vibrant and bright young man who was adored by staff and students alike. May he rest in peace. Our deepest sympathies to Bobo’s family and friends, we hope you find strength in the difficult days ahead.
