Congratulations to all our students who received their Junior Certificate Results this morning. They were excellent across all subjects. Well done also to the teachers who have worked hard over three years to prepare the students in all aspects of their course work. Much thanks also goes to all the parents/guardians who supported their sons and ourselves in helping the lads to do their best. Top results were achieved by John Davis who was awarded 9 A's and a Higher Merit in English. Other top achievers were Cian Aird with 7 A's and a Higher Merit, along with DJ O'Brien Doyle with 6 A's and Fergus Sheehy who also achieved excellent results with 4 A's, 5 B's and a Higher Merit. All students lived up to our school motto "From each his best" and that is all anyone can ask. Well done all. Enjoy your celebrations and stay safe while doing so.

Junior Cert results will be given to students at a 10 am Assembly. All 5th years, including those who did TY last year, will then be allowed to go home. We want to congratulate in advance all students who worked hard and deserve good results. There will be school as normal on Thursday at 9 am for all 5th years and TY's. TY students who are doing their Work Experience must still attend their jobs. Arrangements to collect your results should be made with your employer, as would be expected in any job and workplace. Do not just stay home or not speak with your employer. You are a responsible young adult in the real world while on Work Experience. Well done all, MM

On Tuesday last the students went on their first outing of the year, a guided tour of Emo House & Gardens. This was a mix of culture and relaxation, a mini bonding session so to speak. The staff were highly complimentary of the boys which is always lovely to hear. Next Tuesday 11th we depart the school @8:45 to attend "School Summits" in Dublin. This will provide the students with the opportunity to investigate career/college options, visit info stands etc. Full school uniform must be worn. The cost is 10 euro which includes the bus .Students may avail of a onsite canteen or bring a packed lunch. The bus is due to return to the school at 4pm, traffic allowing. Reminder to students to check the TY noticeboard on a regular basis for competition updates etc. TCD/UCD run short science courses aimed specifically at Transition Year students. Interested students need to be proactive and do their online research as places on these courses are limited. The available courses include Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics and Immunology. Similarly, UL run a law course, the details of which can be found at Law@ul.ie The trip to Carlingford will take place from Monday the 17th to Wednesday the 19th. Further information will be given to students later in the week.
