A reminder to complete registration by tomorrow evening if your child is interested in attending supervised study after school.

After School Supervised Study provides a quiet environment for students to complete their homework without any distractions, supports students to develop good study habits and fosters a positive learning environment. Based on our recent parent survey, it is clear that there is a keen interest for the school to provide After School Supervised Study for students.

As a result, we are proposing to pilot After School Supervised Study, over a 5 week period, commencing Monday November 13th until Thursday December 14th (excluding Exam week).

The pilot will run as follows:

• Open to Second and Third Year students
• 2 hour session provided after school Monday to Thursday inclusive
• 15:45 to 17:45 on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday and 13:15 to 15:15 on Wednesday
• Cost €75 (pay in full at start via the school app shop, no discount for reduced days)
• After-School Supervised Study School rules will be signed by student and parent. School reserves the right to withdraw any students if rules are not respected. Payment will not be refunded.
• Please note this is not a homework club – it is a supervised study period
• We will review all procedures at the end of pilot.

 If your child is interested in attending, please sign up here by Tuesday  November 7th.  Payment will be sought via the school app shop and payment will be required before commencement.

This pilot is dependent on a sufficient number of students signing up.  If you have signed up we will contact you by Thursday 9th to confirm if it is going ahead.

After the hugely successful PSA social and fundraising event last year we look forward to returning to The Goat on November 9th for a lovely social gathering and a table quiz.

It’s not long now until our Table Quiz on November 9th @ 7pm in The Goat. It promises to be a fun evening and we hope to see many of you there. 

Please see the shop section if you wish to purchase Table Quiz tickets, (4 people per table), raffle tickets or make a donation.   Please drop any donations for the raffle hampers in to Clodagh in the office, or collection can be arranged if necessary.  We greatly appreciate your support!

Food Village will be commencing their lunch time service in the school on Friday September 1st.

They have asked that we share information to you via this link which includes a new menu for this year, new features and the school's registration code.  Food Village are committed to providing our students with the best meals to fuel their academic pursuits. Feedback to Food Village is always welcomed.

Food Village will visit the school during induction to provide our First Year students with key tags and demonstrate how it works.

What's new this year?

• A diverse range of dishes catering to various dietary needs – Over 200 options now available everyday

• Alterations in meal options, like introducing waffle fries in place of potato cubes, an updated venting process, and several other enhancements have been made. Our culinary team worked diligently over the summer to guarantee the utmost quality and consistency from our ingredients through to our heating process.

• A Select range of Instant purchase hot meals are now available on your menu daily.

• Students will received a 100% refund on all ambient items (Snacks, Drinks etc) if they need to cancel their order. Orders must be cancelled in the Food Village app before 9:30am on the day of service for refunds. Hot items will include a 50% refund.

One Day Together is Educate Together's national celebration and fundraising day and takes place this Friday (October 27th).

We are marking the day by inviting students to dress up and donate €2.

Educate Together, which opens and supports Ireland's equality-based schools, is a registered charity.  50% of its costs are covered by the state so they rely on the generosity of supporters to keep them going and growing.  Your support will help them to:

• widen access to Educate Together schools
• further develop our inclusive Ethical Education curriculum
• advocate for equality in the Irish education system

Activities for Maths Week 2023 are well underway in the school this week.  Students have been scratching their heads during Tutor Time pouring over their daily Maths riddle!

We are ending the week off with a bang with our annual Maths Week Quiz, organised by Michelle's Maths class.  On Friday, during period 5 and 6, the whole school will come together and battle it out for the Maths Quiz 2023 title. Only one team will be victorious!

Dear parents, guardians and carers,

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week and we have a variety of activities planned in the school which will highlight the importance of looking after our mental health and also to shine a light on some of the issues that hinder the ability of young people to do just that.

• Tutor Time across the week will focus on Mental Health Awareness through activities such as meditation, journalling and physical activity.  
• Student designed posters highlighting the Wellbeing Indicators and poetry written by students on the topic of Mental Health will be displayed around the school.

Other activites include:

• Monday: Bake Sale hosted by Clan Markievicz in aid of Pieta House
• Wednesday: Third Years will go on activity to St Enda's Park
• Thursday: Cara O'Loughlin from 'LivingIntuitivelywith Cara' will speak to our Transition Year Group on the topic of Intuitive Eating/Disordered Eating
• Friday: Online Safety - Gardai will visit our school to give a talk to our First Year Group about being safe online.

There will be a further activity for Second Years the following week.

Our Second Year Clan, Markievicz, are hosting a Bake Sale fundraiser for Pieta House on Monday at lunch time.

We hope students can enjoy a variety of baked goods and raise funds for a worthy cause.

Please remind your child to save some pocket money over the weekend for the bake sale!  We will also accept payment from student revolut cards!
