ABSENCES DUE TO COVID
Created : 30 Nov 2021, 4:40 PM
Archived : 30 Jan 2022, 12:00 AM
We have had a number of queries from parents re arrangements for students staying at home due to Covid related reasons. As always, the advice is to check in with pals for an update on work covered, and teachers, where feasible, will upload material on TEAMs.
Re arrangements for those missing Christmas Exams, due to illness/covid, the suggestion is that the parent will collect the paper after the exam has been completed in school, and the student will sit it at home under exams conditions and return it to the office as quickly as possible afterwards for correction. Some teachers may opt to send a digital copy.
If your son is missing for an exam or exams, due to illness or a covid related reason, and would like to complete the exam(s) at home, please email me at aelin.odonoghue@pbc-cork.ie with the student name, exam(s) being missed and I will get back to you with arrangements. We hope the number will not be too high!!!

6th Year
Our 6th Year Agricultural Science Students visited Macroom Buffalo Farm today as part of their Leaving Certificate Course.
Students experienced Ireland’s first Water Buffalo Dairy Farm with a private guided walk and tour of the farm, followed by an introduction to Mozzarella cheese making which is provided by one of the farm's cheesemakers.
Macroom Buffalo Farm is owned and run by Johnny and Geraldine Lynch, who purchased 31 water buffalo from Italy in 2009, introducing the first herd of buffalo to Ireland. Now with a herd of over 150 in Kilnamartyra and Macroom in County Cork, these grass fed animals are thriving in the Irish climate.
Thanks to Mr Donnelly and Mr Bohane for accompanying them.

The rowing club had a successful weekend at Skibbereen Head of the River and the annual Cork Sculling Ladder.
On Saturday at Skibbereen HOR, there were wins for the Club Pair, the Junior 18 Four and Junior 18 Eight. This is the first win in the Junior Eight category for a number of years and it shows the strength of the current squad. There was also a second place for our ‘B’ Junior 18 Four and an excellent third place finish for Sam Hernan in the Junior 16 Scull, a highly competitive event.
On Sunday a number of rowers took part in the prestigious Cork Sculling Ladder, with Jack Cotter and Rory Buckley taking first and second place respectively in the Junior 18 category.
There were also strong performances from our younger crews throughout the weekend and huge credit must go to all the athletes and coaches for their hard work so far this winter!
The next event for the club is Muckross Head of the River in the National Rowing Centre on December 4th.
