Rowers win at Cork Head of the River

Over 40 rowers raced this Saturday in near perfect conditions at Cork Head of the River, a 4 kilometre time trial from Michael Collins Bridge to Blackrock Castle.
The Junior 18 squad continued their impressive winning streak with victories in the Eight, Four and Pair. This was a clean sweep in the sweep rowing category at this level!
The Eight consisted of Rex O'Sullivan, Sam Hernan, Andrew O'Leary, Eoghan Ahern, Tadhg O'Flynn, Ben Mullane, Leo Porion and Darragh Buckley. The crew was coxed by Noah Giltinan. Rex, Sam, Andrew, Ben and Noah made up the Four, and Andrew and Sam rowed the Pair, bringing their medal tally to three for the day.
Crews from the Junior 15 and 16 squads also raced on the day and there was a strong 5th place finish for the Junior 16 Quad of Leo Porion, Brian O'Leary, John Neville, Darrach Fanning and cox Noah Giltinan in what is traditionally a very competitive event.
Next up for the club is St. Michael's Head of the River in Limerick this coming Saturday where the Junior 18s will travel to race the Junior 8.
Sci-Fest at School Competition

Congratulations to our Transition Year students who presented their science projects in the Sci-Fest at school competition.
Our students worked extremely hard since September, researching, evaluating and analysing their projects in their chosen fields of interest in the Science Investigation Module. This module is an elective subject which students can take up during their transition year program.
Their commitment and passion has been admirable throughout the process. They worked extremely hard with rigorous questioning from external judges from Sci-Fest this morning.They are a credit to the school community.
Big thank you to Ms. Lynch and Mr. Donnelly for their help and guidance to our students throughout the module.

The tickets for the Senior Cup Semi-final against CBC are being sold tomorrow in school. The ticket cost is 5 Euro and this includes entry and bus TO the match. The boys will need to find their own way home from Musgrave Park. The school bags will be left in the school and collected on Friday morning. Thursday will be a BLACK and WHITE Day again. Thank you.

Pres continued their fine run and qualified for the quarter final of the Munster Junior Cup with a hard fought 2-1 win over a teak tough and resilient St Brendan's, Killarney side at Corinthians' Park today.
Trailing 1-0 with 20 minutes to go, Jerry Murphy equalised for Pres with a swerving thunderbolt from outside the box and Charlie Cummins secured the victory with an exquisite right-footed chip on the edge of the penalty area with 5 minutes remaining.
Well done lads,- tremendous resolve, mental toughness and no little skill shown today.
