Rowers win at Shandon Head of the River

It was another successful weekend for the rowing club on the Marina on Saturday at Shandon Head of the River. The crew of Rex O'Sullivan, Eoghan Ahern, Andrew O'Leary, Sam Hernan and Jack Carroll picked up a win in the Junior 18 Four beating crews from around the country in a very competitive event. The Junior 18 squad continued their strong performance with a third place finish out of a field of twelve crews in the Junior 18 Eight. This group continue to show their promise and are being rewarded for their long hours of training! There were good rows for the Junior 15 and 16 squads in their respective categories and some more valuable racing experience was gained as the regatta season fast approaches. Well done to all the athletes and coaches involved!

First Year Rowing Training

First Year Rowing starts this Saturday at 12.45 in Shandon Boat Club on the Marina (T12 PV07). Training will finish at 3.30 and any first year interested in rowing is invited to attend. What to wear: regular sports gear, runners and layers for cold weather What to bring: water bottle, change of clothes, towel Weekly training will be on at the following times; Monday - 315-430 school gym Wednesday - 130-330 Shandon Boat Club Friday - 315-430 school gym Saturday- 1245-330 Shandon Boat Club No experience is necessary and all are welcome! Students can speak to Ms.Hennessy or Mr.Hennessy if they have any questions.
First Year Soccer Training

First year soccer training will begin tomorrow, Friday 14th January. This will take place in the Mardyke Arena, on the astro turf from 3.30pm until 4.30pm. Students are to be collected from the Mardyke at 4.30pm, NOT from the school. Please bring appropriate footwear for astro turf.

We have quite a number of students currently restricting movement/isolating at home. Our advice to these students is to check in with classmates to keep abreast of work being covered in class. Teachers, where possible, will upload material on TEAMs. These are challenging times for us all and we hope you and your families remain safe.

Any 5th year students who are available to collect for SHARE tomorrow, Thursday 23rd December, are requested to please do so. We are appealing to students of 5A, 5B and 5C to collect from 9.30am - 1.30pm, and students of 5D, 5E and 5F to collect from 1.30pm - 5.30pm. Students who are available are requested to sign in to the crib on Patrick Street prior to their start time. As always, any help is very much appreciated!
