Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are delighted that our school has been selected to participate in the Safe Routes to School programme. Safe Routes to School is designed to enable students to safely walk, cycle and scoot to school.
As part of the initial phase of this programme, the Safe Routes to School Team would like to gather information on how our students travel to school and where they start their journey. Your input is needed to help create a safer school environment therefore, we are asking all parents to complete the short survey: arcg.is/0muCP5 by 21st January. The survey can be done on a smart phone or a computer. There is an instructional video available under this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmLccfH0ky0 if parents need audio assistance in filling in the survey.
If you would like to learn more information about this programme, please click here: greenschoolsireland.org/saferoutestoschool/
Thank you!

Dear parents/guardians,
Due to a number of staff absences, unfortunately we need to pause extra-curricular and co-curricular clubs for the next three weeks.
We will review this towards the end of January.
If your child is absent from school but is able to engage with school-work, please encourage them to access their Schoolwise account where they will be able to find resources, materials and assigned work from lessons missed.

The ‘Big Dig’ archaeology workshop - reminder

Archived : 07 Jan 2022, 12:02 PM
The History Department are excited to welcome the ‘Big Dig’ archaeology workshop (facilitated by archaeologists from the School of Irish Archaeology) to HCETSS on Friday the 19th of November for all 1st year students.
We would also advise the students to bring coats and shoes that they do not mind getting dirty as the Big Dig can sometimes be a bit mucky!
The ‘Big Dig’ is a hands-on educational workshop which involves students taking part in a simulated archaeological dig on a replica excavation site which will be brought to the school..
Students will take part in the workshop in small groups throughout the day and each session lasts for 40 minutes. To help cover the cost of the workshop, we require a contribution of €10 from each student. This can be paid through the school app.
