A reminder that our Career Guidance teacher, Ms. O’Callaghan, will be holding an informational meeting for 6th Year parents on Thursday, 28th November 2024, at 7:00 pm.

The session will cover college options, the CAO application process, DARE, HEAR, and essential details on college applications and financial planning.

We encourage all parents and guardians to attend, as there will also be information on the SUSI grant process and the range of options available after the Leaving Certificate.

6th Year students are also welcome to attend.

A reminder that the school will be closed for students on Thursday 28th November to facilitate staff training.

The Parents' Association AGM will take place in the school at 8pm on Wednesday 23rd October.

We encourage all parents to attend this AGM and to engage with the Parents' Association.

Reminder: The deadline for returning the completed pupil insurance forms to the office is this Thursday, the 26th September.

Please complete the bottom section of the form (as indicated) and enclose the exact payment (change cannot be given) for the option selected in a sealed envelope with pupil’s name and class clearly indicated on the envelope.

In view of the current weather conditions and the forecast for further freezing this evening and tonight, it has been decided to postpone the session on Understanding Building Children's Resilience scheduled for this evening. 

School will open as normal today, Thursday 21st November.

However, it is important that safety is everyone's first concern.

Dominican College is pleased to offer a three-session programme for the parents of 1st and 2nd Year students, led by Dr. Paul Killerby from the National Educational Psychology Service (NEPS).

This programme is designed to equip parents with practical strategies to support their children in developing resilience and independence, particularly during the early stages of their secondary school journey.

Session one will be held on Thursday, 21st November, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The follow-on sessions will take place during the second and third terms of this school year.
