A big well done to everyone who participated in recent Connacht Schools Track and Field events.

Over 20 girls represented the school at minor, junior, intermediate and senior level across a range of events in Dangan and Athlone.

A special mention goes to Jennifer McCarthy (1500m), Michelle Nnadi (100m), Angela Cielecka (100m & long jump) and Rhian Langford-Breathnach (shot put & discus) who have all qualified for the All Ireland Schools track and field finals in Tullamore in two weeks time.

Beautiful Artwork!

Today, there was a lovely gathering outside room 8 to celebrate the amazing artwork completed by many girls since the start of the year.

Our special guest was Johanna Cooke (Mural Artist) who was thrilled at the quality and overall result of the work done. In September, Johanna painted some outlines to get the girls started in their work.

Well done to Mrs. Knight who came up with the idea of creating this space, to be used by students to take some time out when needed, to be creative and to spend time in the fresh air.

The girls have really benefited from this initiative over the year. So much so, it will now be an annual feature in room 8.

Congratulations also to the many girls who developed this beautiful work.

You may notice that in one picture, plans are being made for next year and the new plans to come.

Watch this space!

Well done to Ciara Brown and Claire Leuridan-Slevin, who represented our school so well at the Youth Access Consultation Event, organised by Galway City Comhairle na nÓg this week.

The girls signed up voluntarily to make a positive contribution to this important topic and to have their voices heard.

Photographed are Ciara and Claire with Minister Anne Rabbitte TD, Mayor Cllr Clodagh Higgins (who is a past pupil of Taylor’s) and Marian Moloney, Access For All Galway with her guide dog Leon.

New PE Uniform - Options

Archived : 11 Jul 2023, 12:00 AM

As you know, we have recently designed a new stylish, functional and modern PE uniform for our school.

All incoming 1st years will have this uniform. (Those starting 1st Yr. in Sept. '23).

Any other student in the school, will have the option to buy and wear this new PE Uniform. There is however, no requirement to do so as we phase in this new change.

Students from 2nd to 6th year have the option to wear the new uniform or to stick with their current PE uniform.

There is no expectation of parents to go to an additional expense, and it is entirely optional.

As usual, our uniform suppliers are Ryans and the Schoolwear Centre.  (You will receive book lists and other uniform detials as usual, in June).

Attached is a discount from the Schoolwear centre for the new PE uniform, should you wish to use it.
