Dear Parent, Your daughter will be bringing home an envelope today for the Planet Youth survey, which will be conducted in our school shortly. Planet Youth is an important new initiative in our region and is being supported by the school. You can find more information about it at www.planetyouth.ie. There are two letters inside the envelope, one for you and one for your child. If either of you wish to abstain from the survey you can do so. Simply sign the appropriate letter and return it to the school office by Friday the 20th of November. Your child will then be excused on the day of the survey. If you don’t return either letter, your child will be included in the survey.

Many thanks to all our students and staff who submitted their suggestions as to how to improve our outdoor areas. By far the most common suggestion was in relation to additional seating outside. Other suggestions mentioned a number of times included installing a covered area; increasing the number of flowers and trees; and painting/decorating some of the walls. We very much appreciate all your suggestions and will bring them to the meeting with the landscape architects when me meet them this coming week.

Covid Information for Return to School

We hope everyone had a good break over the past week. As we return to school, just a quick reminder to be sure to follow all the Covid guidelines: 1. Do not come to school if you are displaying any symptoms; if you have been sent for a Covid test; or if you have been identified as a close contact. 2. Always wear a face mask in school. 3. Wash and sanitize your hands regularly. 4. Maintain social distancing. 5. Practice good coughing etiquette. You will no doubt have heard that there were further Covid supplies recalled from schools at the end of last week. The large buckets of sanitizing wipes that we had in classrooms were on that list. We have been told that there is nothing to suggest that they were a health hazard, but there was an issue with certification of the products that were recalled. Those wipes have been removed from around the school and new wipes were delivered over the weekend. None of our sanitizers or other supplies were on the recalled list.
