Well done to last year's Geography 4/1 class, who raised over 3000 euros to 're-wild' Galway city. As part of the Galway Science and Technology Festival, there is a major initiative to improve sustain our environment and we are proud of these students and their contributions. Next week, these students will be involved in the planting planting of thousands of trees around Lough Atalia. Please see the link below for more information. Archived : 09 Jan 2022, 12:00 AM
The Planet Youth survey, conducted last December with 4,473 15 and 16-year-olds in all the schools in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon, highlighted that lack of sleep is one of the biggest preventable health issues for our children. In response to this finding, Planet Youth has organised a free webinars that will hopefully help parents better understand the issue whilst also providing some helpful ideas to use at home. The webinar will be delivered by Lucy Wolfe, a sleep consultant and a parent that has three teenagers herself, as well as one pre-teen. Lucy is best known for the books she has written on sleep for young children, but she has prepared some very useful material specifically for these webinars and the parents of older children. The importance of sleep for our teenagers is on the 11th of November at 7pm. This webinar is for parents that have children in post-primary and the link to register for this one is: event.webinarjam.com/channel/PlanetYouthTeenSleep
