1st Year Athletes Win Best Girls' School Award

Congratulations to our 1st Year athletics team who were selected to take part in the Bank of Ireland/Athletics Ireland school championship at the National Indoor Arena in Dublin. The team won the Best Girls' School title on the day and received an Amazon Kindle Fire tablet.

Today (6th February 2018) is Internet Safety Day, an EU wide initiative to promote safer internet use for all users, especially young people. Our 2nd Year students undertook activities (including making posters) to promote their safer use of the internet.

Well done to 5th Year Accounting students Lauren Wright, Rebecca Van den Bergh, Wakila Latidoye and Alex Healy, who recently represented Dominican College in the annual Bond Trading Challenge, hosted by Bank of Ireland in the Connacht hotel. The event attracted students from many schools in the west of Ireland.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar Writes to Class 1/4

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar recently wrote a letter (see below) to class 1/4 in response to their correspondence to him. The class was assigned a project for their Christmas exam entitled 'If I was Taoiseach I would. . .', in which they listed their top 5 areas of concern and discussed their solutions. The girls' submissions were excellent so their teacher, Mrs. Kennedy, sent them to the Taoiseach accompanied with by a letter written with the students' help, where they outlined their passion for change and the need for more women in politics. They were delighted with his response which can be seen below along with a photograph of him reading their submissions.
High School Musical

Our 5th Years are putting on a fabulous production of High School Musical this weekend and it is going really well. The show was completely sold out on Friday and Saturday and we have our final performance this evening. Well done to everyone involved!
