Tickets for McCambridge's Food & Wine Fair

The Parents' Council will be selling tickets in the school tomorrow, Tuesday, for this year's McCambridge's Food & Wine Fair. The event will take place on Thursday 17th November and tickets cost €20 each. All the proceeds of the tickets sold by the school go to Dominican College.

We wish Aoife Lynagh (3rd Year) and Lucia Lobato (TY) the very best of luck as they represent the Republic of Ireland soccer team at u17 level over the coming weeks. The girls will line out for Ireland against Iceland in the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship 2017 Qualifying Round in Cork.
PRISM Maths Competition

Well done to all 141 of our students who took part in the PRISM Maths Competition this afternoon. PRISM is an annual contest for second level mathematics students. It is run in the hope of encouraging students to develop their interest in mathematical problem solving and in mathematics in general.

Well done to all our TY students and their teachers who organised a Maths Fair today for the 1st Year students. There was a wide number of maths based activities that the students could get involved in including a treasure hunt around the school and maths puzzles to be solved.

This week we will celebrate Maths Week in the school. There are a number of activities planned including a Maths Fair for the 1st Year students on Tuesday organised by the TY students and their teachers and the PRISM maths competition for students from 2nd to 6th Year. Well done to Ms. Kerrigan, Ms. McGrath and all the other students and staff who worked so hard to promote literacy within the school. Their hard work and achievement was recognised yesterday when the school was presented with the WellRead Award and flag. Collecting the award on the day were Ms. Kerrigan, Ms. McGrath, Amy O'Reilly, Nora Christians and Bronwyn Varette. The WellRead programme aims to create heightened awareness about the importance of creating a culture of reading in school communities for our young people as part of their personal and academic development.

The elections for positions on the Student Council will take place next week. Nominations will be collected during the 9:40am class on Monday 10th October while the voting will take place on Thursday 13th October.

Congratulations to the senior Gaelic football team who achieved great success yesterday in defeating Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiarain, An Cheathru Rua. The team who lined out on the pitch contained player's of a very high standard and as a result dominated the match from the start. After an exhilarating game the Taylor's girls emerged triumphant. The final score was Dominican College 8- 6 Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiarain 4-7.
