Smart Futures Presentation for 3rd Year Students

Pat Leahy from Metlife recently delivered the SFI Smart Futures presentation to our 3rd Year students. Metlife is a multinational insurance and investment company with a global technology campus in Galway. Smart Futures is a Government initiative working with industry, research and education partners to promote STEM careers to post-primary students in Ireland. The objective is to grow awareness and improve perceptions of what people working in STEM do and what skills they use/require. The aim is to encourage students to consider/retain STEM subjects at post-primary and third level and improve the coordination of outreach resources.
Gaisce Awards

Congratulations to our five 5th Year students who were presented with their Gaisce Bronze Awards. The girls - Anna Burke, Isabelle Gibbs, Aoife Lynagh, Caoimhe Kelly and Orla O'Regan - showed tremendous commitment and perseverance in completing the award. The Gaisce ('great achievement') award is carried out under the patronage of the President of Ireland and in order to achieve the award, the girls had successfully complete four challenge areas: community involvement; development of a personal skill; physical recreation; and an adventure journey. The girls were ably guided on their journey by Ms. Carroll and Ms. Cradock who worked with the girls and supported them in achieving this worthwhile award.
Easter Study Arrangements

The arrangements for students undertaking Easter study are as follows: It will run from 9.30 to 12.30 beginning Tuesday 23rd of April. Students will get a 10 minute break during each session. Students do not need to wear their uniform. Study will take place in Room 31, so if you arrive early just wait at the entrance gates.

Rosary Hall Raffle Reminder

Reminder to all students to please return the raffle cards to the school office as soon as possible. The raffle will take place early next week. If you have not yet sold your lines you may do so and return the cards on Monday morning at the very latest.

Junior & Leaving Cert Fees

The school has been notified that letters will be issued next week (beginning 1st April) to each student sitting her Junior or Leaving Cert exams, containing details of the payment for the state examinations. The fees can be paid online. Once the school receives these letters we will pass them on to the students.

Easter Study

We are planning to offer supervised study during the Easter holidays if there is sufficient interest from students. There will be two sessions each day; 9.30-12.30 and 1.30 to 4.30. Students should sign up only for the sessions they want to do and the cost per session is €8. Study will not take place on Good Friday or Easter Monday. If you are interested and do not currently do study please give your name to Mr Drea. If you already do study Mr Drea will take your name during study on Monday and application forms will be given out next week.
Money Collected for Cancer Care West

Well done to each of the houses who collected money for Cancer Care West and were awarded house tokens in recognition of this. The amounts raised were: Baird €65 (10 tokens) Taheny €76 (20 tokens) Heuston €81 (30 tokens) Lynch €82 (40 tokens) Butler €89 (50 tokens) WINNER: Nolan €108 (100 tokens) Total raised €501.
