Brendan Murray, a native of Tuam, Co. Galway and Past Pupil of St.Jarlath's College is down to the quarter finals of the X Factor this weekend. His family, friends and supporters are reaching out near and far for people to vote to help him sail through to the semi-finals. With only two weeks to go to the finals Brendan is close to becoming the first Irish person in the final of X Factor. Brendan said “This has been an unbelievable time in my life, I can’t tell you how much all the support means to me, I am overwhelmed and now coming so far I want to get to the final and bring X Factor back home. My parents have been by biggest inspirations and without them I wouldn’t have gotten this far.” The Murray family have been furiously every week getting in touch with contacts here and in the UK to garner as much support as possible, Dad Frank said; “I am on the phone every day to the Irish communities in England and the support has been phenomenon. We couldn’t be prouder of Brendan and we need as many votes as possible this weekend to ensure he stays in. It is harder for us to vote in Ireland, we can vote through the 1513 number that is provided after all acts have performed on Saturday night. It is really important to note that if you can’t get through you probably need to call your service provider to unblock outgoing premium numbers. It only takes one minute to do and then you an call as many times as you want. Each call is 0.60cent. If you have friends or family in the UK they can download the X Factor app and get 5 FREE Votes. We hope everyone will get behind him again this weekend. We are so thankful to everyone.” Brendan is being mentored by One Direction band member Louis Tomlinson who is driving him every week in the hope he lives his dream with a recording contract. Make sure to tune in this Saturday night to Virgin Media 1 at 8.30pm and Vote for Brendan Murray.
