Congratulations to our Green Schools Committee members who were presented with the College’s second Green Schools Flag this week. The flag was awarded for the committee’s work around water conservation in CBC. Third Year student Frederic Dietze served as the College’s Water Ambassador this year. Special thanks to Dr David Roy and Mr Alex Denby for their ongoing support.

Well done to all who took part in this year's CBC Gold Medal evening. The guest speaker for the evening was Mr Edmund Heaphy, Deputy Foreign Editor of RTÉ News and past pupil of the college. The First Year Prize Debate was won by Kevin McCarthy with Max Power placing Second. The 2023 Gold Medal winner was Jonathan Walsh, Fifth Year. Henry O'Riordan won Silver and Neel Gupta took Bronze.
On Sunday, May 14, 2023, in Cahir Park in Tipperary, three first-year students—Ciarán Kelly, Eoin McCarthy, and Jack Mills—of the Midleton Soccer Club won the National Cup for under-14s. Against Belvedere, Dublin, they triumphed 5-1.

Congratulations to the Learning and Teaching Committee on being awarded Léargas Erasmus+ funding for a third consecutive year. This funding was awarded for our project entitled: Exploring the Impact of Teacher Peer Observation in the Netherlands: A Study of Strategies for Engaging Teaching Staff, Nurturing a Culture of Innovation, and Promoting Reflective Practice. LAOS (Domain 4). This allows us to observe best practice in teaching and learning in the other EU high performing jurisdictions and continue our improvement orientation in the College.
