Senior Footballers Defeat Heywood CS

️ Our Senior Footballers defeated Heywood CS on a score line of 3.15 - 0-8 before the break ️
In what was a close game to begin with, the CBS were just too strong for this Heywood side. A first half goal from Ben Doyle proved to be the turning point in the game. Doyle’s goal, combined with another from Conor Buggie, and a number of frees from Kieran O’Donnell meant the CBS were leading 2-7 to 0-4 at half time.
The CBS kicked on in the second half and Davy Costello added a third goal to the lads tally.
Man of the match was difficult to determine as it was a very good team performance but in the end, it went to Kieran O’Donnell, who finished with 0-8 in total
We now face Colaiste Iosagain this Wednesday and a win will see us through to the South Leinster Colleges B Semi Final
Well done lads and best of luck Wednesday ️

️Our U15 soccer team played their first league game vs Dunamase College just before the break. The CBS went one ahead from a brilliant Jack Cleland free kick early in the first half. Two defensive mistakes saw the CBS going 2-1 down halfway through the 2nd half. But the boys never gave up! They fought hard and were rewarded with another Jack Cleland goal for a share of the spoils. A fair result in the end. ️
Man of the match was Harry Browne
Best of luck in the next game lads!

Stradbally was the venue of the 1st round of the 4 County League Athletics Championships this year. ‍️‍️ Schools across Laois, Kildare, Carlow and Kilkenny made very large and competitive Cross Country races in what were fine racing conditions. ️
First up were our Minor Boys and this would have been their first ever XC race. James Doody was first of the CBS boys to cross the line in an impressive 26th place.

Next up was our Junior Boys. In what was a very competitive race, Daniel Downey and David Wajrak ran very clever races coming through the field and finished strong. Daniel won overtaking the leader with only 200m to go and David following closely behind in 3rd place. Other highlights were Dinny Whelan(25) and Ruairi Molloy (26) who had very strong runs and completed the team to come home in 1st place overall

Billy Ramsbottom was our sole Senior competitor and also ran a very strong and clever race finishing in 15th place

Well done to all who represented on the day! Next competition will be the 10th Nov in Heywood. Training will continue after the midterm! All welcome to join !
