Our 2nd year footballers  hosted Heywood on Monday, with the game finishing in a draw of 4-8 each. Heywood got off to the better start racing into a 1-1 to no score lead. CBS opened their account with a Joe Larkin free. Davy Delaney and Denis Browne added a goal each with Arron McCormack kicking a point from long range to leave the CBS up 2-2 to 1-2 after 17 minutes. A goal from Joe Larkin and a point each form Aaron Fitzpatrick and Dean O’Connor left the half-time score 3-4 to 2-3.

Heywood used the strong wind in the second half and scored 1-4 without reply to lead the game. CBS  responded with a Joe Larkin  goal,  and points from Larkin (2) and Davy Delaney (2) gave CBS a three point cushion going into the last 3 minutes.  However Heywood scored a goal in injury time to draw the game.

Many thanks to John Dunne for the photos.

6th Years visit the Mill Theatre to see Macbeth

Our 6th Year Higher Level English students visited the Mill Theatre in Dundrum Town Centre to view a contemporary, fast paced, and thrilling production of William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’, directed by Geoff O’Keefe.

 Something wicked this way comes
In a nightmarish world savaged by war, the body count rises in a taut and explosive drama of naked ambition.  The celebrated soldier, Macbeth, haunted by demons of the mind, spirals out of control when the psychological scars of murder, drive him beyond redemption.

An extraordinary tale of a golden couple whose lust for power sees them unravel at the seams. Grief and madness, rips them apart. Haunted by supernatural forces and driven to extremes, Macbeth explodes in a bloody, claustrophobic minefield of ego, greed and ambition.

A very enjoyable day which included some retail therapy and a spot of lunch for the boys too!
