175 Liturgical Celebration and Opening Mass of the Academic Year
Created : 13 Oct 2022, 8:25 PM
Archived : 13 Dec 2022, 12:00 AM
Today students and staff walked in the sunshine to St. Peter and St. Paul's Church to celebrate mass, to pray for the academic year ahead and to also give thanks for the 175 years of St. Marys's CBS. We were reminded of the origins of the school and also the symbolism of the newly launched crest.
In his homily Bishop Nulty wondered "who in their right mind " would open a school in the midst of a famine. Our principal Ms. Murphy gave an address  reminding all the students of their own place in history. It was a meaningful ceremony enriched by the musical contributions of Mr. Byrne, Ms. Carroll and their gifted students. Well done to all of our students on their admirable behaviour and respect while in the church #fromeachtheirbest
