Our TY’s spent the day bonding at Lisduff Adventure Farm in Errill yesterday. They completed an extremely difficult 4.5km obstacle course with members of the Irish Defence Forces. The course was a combination of a Hell and Back/Ireland’s Fittest Family course! The students really enjoyed the day and the first 4 in (Photo 9) were treated to some well earned hot cookies and ice cream in Supermacs after! Well done guys, you really showed what you were made of! #teambonding #ty2022

Hard luck to our U16’s who were narrowly defeated by Coláiste Mhuire A.G 44-43. The lads put up an excellent fight, displaying great sportsmanship and dedication to the end. We are so proud of our lads and coaches. #fromeachtheirbest #coachoconnell #coachharrington Match report - The game got off to an excellent start for our side with Luke Kavanagh scoring the first basket of the game, closely followed by another excellent basket from Josh Finn. Josh Finn was responsible for an excellent 3 pointer which levelled the two teams. Daniel Booth set up and secured two 3 point baskets for our side which saw the boys take the lead heading into the third quarter. The lads displayed some excellent defending by Cian Butler and Luke Kavanagh. This put Coláiste Mhuire A.G under some pressure and our lads showed what they were made of. The final quarter saw St. Mary's CBS 3 points up and the game remained tight between the two teams. Some excellent scores from Jack Murphy, Desmond Ogedegbe and Jack Fennell saw the sides level once again in the closing few minutes. The game ebbed and flowed from end to end for the majority of the final quarter with the CBS coming extremely close on numerous times, but unfortunately along with some questionable refereeing decisions going against them, 1 point was between the two teams as the final whistle blew.

Fantastic win by former CBS student Zach Tuohy with his Geelong Cats in AFL Premiership

Zach Tuohy has become the 2nd Irish player to have won an AFL Grand Final in Australia. His team, Geelong Cats, based outside of Melbourne, and his other Irish team mate, Mark O'Connor, another Irish man who joins the distinguished group of 3 Irishmen to achieve this level of success, helped their team cruise to victory this morning with a final score of 133-52. This was Zach's 250th appearance on the AFL stage and his impressive performance today saw him chaired off by his team mates afterwards. No doubt, there will be great celebrations in Portlaoise when Zach returns home to Ireland in the coming weeks for a well earned break and his upcoming wedding.
