Rugby Training

Rugby Training for U16 and Seniors will take place next Thursday the 30th from 4.15 to 5.30.
U16 is for students in 2nd, 3rd and TY.
Senior Rugby is for 5th and 6th years.
All those interested in playing this year must attend. If you are new to rugby you must get the parental permission form signed before Thursday. Mr Ryan has forms in his room. Gum Shields must be worn to take part.

6th Year Biology students had a fun and educational day completing their Ecology Habitat study with the Discovery & Learning Department at Dublin Zoo today.
Gary O'Reilly visits the CBS

We had a special guest visit us in the CBS on Wednesday, Olympic bronze medalist Gary O'Reilly. Gary was welcomed by teachers and students for a presentation followed by a question and answer session. The entire CBS community are so proud of Gary and what he has achieved since leaving the CBS and are excited to see what's next for this young athlete!
LOETB Industry Qualification

This program has successfully given the necessary skills, industry recognised certifications to many students over the years.
The career placement and continued pathway is ideal for those wishing to pursue a career in Sport, Coaching, Fitness, Physical Therapy, Personal Training, Paramedic, Nutrition etc
You may know of students that are taking a year out or who may not have achieved the points for their choice of career.
There are ‘NO FEES’ as it is fully funded by LOETB and students may also be eligible for a training allowance while attending this programme.
The program will be based in the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise. and commences in October 2021.

Christmas Shoe Box Appeal

Today TY students launched their Christmas Shoe Box appeal in aid of Team Hope.
They are looking for as many students and teachers as possible to get involved.
TYA and TYB will be calling to classes this week with more information.
This year they aim to donate 200 boxes.

Solas students and staff visited Castlecomer Discovery Park today where they took part in archery among other activities. A great day was had by all!
Burning House Film Productions

Emmett from Burning House Film Productions delivered a filmmaking workshop to our TY students today. They all got the chance to use high end film equipment and record some scenes, learning about camera angles and how to tell a story through film. It was a really enjoyable workshop that will hopefully inspire great things in our TY Film class.
