There are 3 recipients of our 'From Each His Best' Scholarship this year. They are James Lynch from St Colman's National School, Stradbally, Fionn Delaney and Ryan Fennell, also from Holy Family Senior School in Portlaoise. We want to thank all who applied and sat the academic exams a few weeks ago. This scholarship combines sporting achievements with academic ability and we are delighted to have such 'all around' students joining us in September. They each receive an iPad and a €250 Shaws voucher. Well done all.
Principal's Letter to Parents & Guardians
This link will take parents/guardians to a letter from the Principal about their son's return to school in August - dates, books, Readmission Form, etc. As the summer passes, this notification will move lower down the list of notifications, so I have put it under School/School Code & Policies which will be easier to find by the time August comes. Scroll to the very end of that list and you will find the Letter to Parents & Guardians June 2024, the Readmission Form for your son(s), and the School Assistance Form for 5th Years, as well.
Incoming 1st year families will receive their own letter in the post early this week, along with the list of materials (not school books) which you will need to purchase which the School Book Scheme does not cover.
We wish everyone a lovely summer and hope we get the good weather, soon! Regards, Maura Murphy
The work experience documents, LCA Reports and other information for September will be posted home at the end of the week. Thank you. AMQ
Senior Students' Booklists can be found on the School App under 'School' and then under 'School Code and Policies'. You need to scroll to the very end of that list to find the Booklists for 2024-25.
Thank you.
We must have the Maths, English, Irish and Spanish Book Rental books returned this week, please. By Friday June 14th at the latest. Please leave in GPA on tables.
Those who did Book Rental get to keep most of their books over the summer, at home, ready for September.
However, the English ‘Fire & Ice’, Maths ‘Texts & Tests 1’, Irish ‘Cinnte 1’, and Spanish ‘Que Pasa 1’ texts Must be returned on THIS WEEK. Please. Those with the French ‘Allons-Y’ can keep them as we are changing the 1st year French text next year.
In September, everyone, will get the next text book in each of those subjects. Keep an eye on this app as further notifications about the book lists will be put up here.
Thank you all for your continued support this past school year. MM
If your son is starting 1st year this August, and he is currently playing great basketball, he could be the lucky recipient of our Basketball Scholarship, sponsored by Portlaoise Panthers Basketball Club. The recipient will receive an iPad from Wriggle. If you have bought one already, which is possible, you will receive the value of one instead.
Please download and complete/submit the attached Application by Friday July 12th at 1pm to my email: mmurphy@portlaoisecbs.com putting 'Basketball Scholarship' on the subject line please. Please ignore the date 5th July on the forms, as we have extended the closing date by a week.
Best of luck!
