1st Year Soccer reach Leinster Shield Final

Our 1st year soccer team booked their place in the Leinster Shield final with a hard fought 4-3 win over Colaiste Eanna, Rathfarnham in Clane FC. ️
CBS couldn’t have asked for a better start with their first attack seeing Eoin Fitzpatrick find the back of the net. ️ 5 mins later the sides were back level. Unfortunately, the CBS were on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline 5 mins later.
Colaiste Eanna were the dominate side, but through one of many well delivered corners from Maks Piech, Eoin Fitzpatrick slotted home his second. ️
The second half saw the CBS start the strongest, putting the pressure back on Colaiste Eanna. It was quick thinking from Darragh Keenan that set up a long range strike from Eoghan Fennell ️ who found the top corner putting the CBS back in front. The drama was to continue with Colaiste Eanna putting the pressure back on us, pulling it back level with 15 to go. St. Mary’s CBS settled again, with some good passages of play and Adam Whelan at the heart of it. It was to be Whelan ️ that would prove the hero, as he combined with Fitzpatrick in the box to seal the win for the CBS. ️
Well done to the boys and their coaches
