Please see Rafters Menu on this App or on their own website - www.rafterscafe.ie where you can also order and prepay for your son's lunch before he goes to school. Also you are now able to buy credit online for the amount of €20 upwards which is put onto a type of debit card - your son collects it from them after you've topped it up and he then can spend that money over time. It takes the search for small change and small bank notes out of the usual Sunday night and early morning rush. Please see their website for further details.

Last night’s attendance at the above Information evening was overwhelming. For those who attended and also for those who were unable to attend, the sheet of information distributed with the dates of each subject’s CBA’s are included with this notification. The Powerpoint presentation shown on the night is too large a file to include on the App and will be on the school website by tomorrow for all to refer to in the school year ahead. If you couldn’t attend please take the time to read through both, in particular make note of the dates for your son’s subjects’ CBA dates if he is in either 2nd or 3rd year.

New Junior Cert Parents Information Night tonight - Wed 6th Nov

We are holding a Junior Cert Framework Information Night for all parents of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years on WEDNESDAY 6th NOVEMBER at 7 PM. Parents of incoming 1st years are also very welcome. All your sons will be undertaking CBA’s (Classroom Based Assessments) in most or all of their subjects when in 2nd and 3rd year. Do you know what they are? Probably not and more than likely, just in theory. The window for each subject to complete these CBA’s is tight and like the old Junior Cert and current Leaving Cert, if you miss the morning (or week) of the exam (or CBA) you don’t get a second chance to complete. There is preparation to be done before each subject CBA and it must be presented, not just handed in. All current 1st years will be doing a CBA in each of their subjects. Current 2nd years will do the same except in WW, TG, Metalwork and Maths. A full enough schedule you’ll agree. Ms Emma Lynch, our JCT Coordinator, will present on that evening about CBA’s, the new Junior Cert, Assignment Tasks, Other Areas of Learning and how their new Certification will appear to you. She will answer your questions as well. This is a necessary information evening for you to attend. All this is new to everyone and your sons deserve all the support both ourselves and parents/guardians can provide. Hope to see you there. Thank you.
