Our TY’s had a very active and enjoyable two days completing their Adventure Journey for their Bronze Gaisce Award.
The lads made little work cycling 47km of the Waterford Greenway. Starting out at Waterford city, taking a well earned lunchbreak at Kilmacthomas and enjoying the views along the way to Dungarvan, all the while teaching Mr. Cahillane how to use an electric bike! The boys had a great day! There were many great displays in the evening activities, with David Reddin stealing the show at the table tennis.

On day two the lads got to enjoy some time at the Bunmahon beach, where they spent the morning with Bunmahon Surf School and a very serious game of soccer was undertaken also! All in all it was a great bonding trip to start the new school year!

School Closed Tomorrow All Day
Created : 12 Nov 2023, 9:40 PM
Archived : 14 Nov 2023, 12:00 AM

We have decided to close the school completely tomorrow as Bus Eireann are not running buses now and that is a large majority of the bus-going student population. Many of you will struggle to get them to school and few will be in anyway. Since Laois and surrounding counties have been added to the Red Warning, it would be unsafe for adults and children, and safety is our main priority. Please take care everybody and see you on Tuesday.

Update @ Buses Running In The Morning

Archived : 14 Nov 2023, 12:00 AM

Hi,

I've spoken to several of the Bus Operators and here is what the plan is ( at 8pm tonight)

Martleys, Universal (O'Brien's) and Deegans Buses will collect an hour later than normal. This means that if you are normally collected at 7.30, you will be collected at 8.30 tomorrow morning and so on.

O'Connells don't seem to be running a service in the morning at all.

Slieve Bloom - their phone went to voicemail several times so I can't say what they're doing.

I will update you if I hear anything else. Thank you and keep safe. MM

Important Message for all- Late Opening Monday morning

School will begin at 10am tomorrow morning, due to the storm and wind warning issued this evening.

I understand that many of you depend on buses to get to school, but I cannot speak for what they will do - whether they will run an hour later or not. I doubt any of them will move before 9am, as the wind warning lasts until 10am. Of course things could change overnight too. Any information that I receive will be put on the App. A text was sent out at 6.15pm. Keep safe everyone overnight.
