Our Senior Football team made it two from two in the league with victory over Scoil Dara Kilcock at home yesterday. Kilcock made the early running with two unanswered points in the first two minutes, however Darren Brennan steadied the ship and opened the CBS account with a point from play. David Harrington and Jake Darcy added two more and along with a goal from Josh Finn, the home team finished the first half trailing by just one point. Half time score 1:3 to 0:7.
Portlaoise really capitalised on having the wind advantage in the second half. Jake Darcy got the scoring underway with a point shortly after throw in to level the score. From this point on Portlaoise dominated and looked to be in control with a point from Conor Ging, two points from Darren Brennan and a goal and a point from David Harrington. However, a late flurry from Kilcock threatened the lead but a point from Josh Finn and 2 from Darren Brennan put daylight between the teams once again. Portlaoise lead by two on the final whistle to chalk up another win.
Final score : Portlaoise CBS 2:11
Scoil Dara Kilcock 2:9
