As part of our Mental Health Awareness week our students received talks from Eric Donovan and Richie Power
Eric spoke to our students about growth and work ethic, he said Life is about learning, developing and growing, but from time to time you will fall down. Falling is necessary for growth, but it is important that you do not stay down.
Richie opened up about some difficulties he has had in life and said From asking for help, my life today is beyond my wildest dreams. When I was down, my way out was talking. It’s been my biggest lifeline.
Thank you so much to both speakers, the boys really enjoyed it, you could hear a pin drop.

Senior Footballers win the Leinster B League!

On a bright, sunny Tuesday morning, the senior footballers lined out for what would be some of the lads final game for the school.
️
A young Portarlington team awaited them in the league final.
The CBS got the ball rolling from the start and opened the scoring through Conor Buggie in the first minute. Port levelled the score on the fifth minute and the CBS replied with two quick fire goals from David Costello. Another goal from Conor Ragget set up an early lead. Portarlington kicked over three points with no reply as CBS seemed to take the foot off the pedal for a few minutes.
However the CBS finished the half strong despite a scrappy goal from Portarlington with goals from Conor Brown and David Costello. James Devoy and Cian Nolan also added to that to leave the CBS with a comfortable lead at half time but an unfinished job.
The second half intensity level increased with early scores from David Costello, Conor Buggie and Cian Nolan. Conor Brown kicked over two 45s to increase the lead once more.
The CBS defence stayed solid throughout the second half allowing Colaiste Iosagain just one point. A strong full back line of Dylan Keyes, David Miller and Sean O’Sullivan kept the Portarlington forwards at bay.
As the game neared a close, goals from Cian Nolan and Conor Brown secured the win for CBS. Special mention to Jack Ahern who made his footballing return after almost 2 years out. Jack popped over a point and burried home a goal with the last kick of the game.
Overall a great way to finish off the season and the 6th years CBS footballing career with a league win and some silverware. ️
Many thanks to Mr Fitz and Ms McCann for all their help throughout the year.
Thanks to Ben Doyle for the report
