BOOK RENTAL

1st years going into 2nd year, who are in BOOK RENTAL must return the English, Irish, Maths, French, Spanish books from 1st year as they are no longer useful in 2nd year. As agreed when entering Book Rental, if books are not returned or badly damaged, the parent is responsible for the replacement cost of same.

Second years will receive their replacement texts, as required, when they return to school in late August - but only upon full payment of the €70 which is due for the 2nd year books. No books will be given to students without full payment.

Third years in Book Rental will have no further payments to make and no extra books to receive.

Third years in Book Rental, currently sitting their Junior Cert Exams, should continue to leave their textbooks in the GPA as they finish the exams in those subjects.

We wish all students and their families a good summer break, relaxing and safe. Thank you all for your support this past school year. It had both its highs and its lows, but as a school community we all supported each other through those times and will continue to do so. Take care.

Huge congratulations to Daniel Downey who has just WON the All Ireland Schools 800m Daniel would have had big expectations on himself going into this stacked race, but did not let the pressure get to him Starting off at an even pace for the first lap, he sat in well and came through the first 400m in 65seconds. Hitting the bell Dan ran an unbelievable last 400m taking to the front with 250m to go and blistering the field with a 60s last lap! ️‍️

We are so proud of Daniel on this huge achievement! Not only did Daniel excel on the track he was also busy competing in the High Jump and finished an amazing 4th place on countback clearing a height of 1.70m! Congrats also to Dan's Dad pictured here who coaches him! and of course to Ms. Mulhare

Have a great summer Daniel. Watch this space !
Message to all Third Years

Firstly, we wish to you all the best in your upcoming Junior Certificate Exams. It is the culmination of three year's hard work, so we would implore you to remain in the exam hall till the end of each exam as there are no marks to be gained when you leave the room. Checking over and over the paper to see did you answer the question correctly and is there anything else you can add is very important.

Secondly, anyone wishing to change a level in a subject will not be permitted to do so on the day of the exam. If you have decided to do this you must see Mr Dunne or Mr Thompson on Tuesday morning between 10am and 11am, with a parent present, to sign a permission slip for the change of level to go through to the State Exams Commission. The SEC will not allow these changes to be made on the day of the exam.

The best of luck lads and enjoy the summer that follows. Take care.

On  Tuesday the 23rd  we celebrated our 3rd ye ar mass with Fr David. Our 3rd year mass capstones students past 3years in the CBS a n d r ecognises the times the boys have had tog e ther as they embark on T.Y or 5th year.

The theme of this years mass was ‘memories’. Students placed posters with pictures of the classes Alex, Bobby, Christiano, Eric&Dwight behind the alter. While Barry Connelly&Ross Brennan put together the alter with students memories of their past 3 years in school.
The words ‘you don’t know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory’ was a special quote placed firmly at the centre of celebrations.
Fr. Vard spoke to students about resilience and being the hero of their own story. While Mr O’Leary shared fondly his first memories of students. He commended students on the young men that they were developing into and wished them well in their Junior Cycle exams. Our music was from the brilliant  Matthew O’Rourke and Antonio Calka.
The lads finished off the afternoon with the biggest pizza party to date in the CBS.

Wishing all our 3rd years the very best of luck in your Junior Cycle exams next week.

We had 4 students compete in the Leinster Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore over the course of two days.
Daniel Downey has continued his amazing form claiming the double again in 800m and the High Jump.  Daniel ran the 800m in an impressive time of 2.06mins and will be very confident going into the All Ireland Finals.
Finn Darcy also competed in the Minor Boys 1100m and ran a brilliant time of 3.30mins in 8 th place. Also leading the way in our middle-distance events was David Wajrak. In a blistering pace David placed in 8 th position in a time of 4.38mins. ‍️

On Day 2, Aaron Foley flew the flag in the Senior Boys discus. In what was a very tough field Aaron managed to threw notable 24.34m to put him into 7th place. Well done!
All eyes are on Daniel now and all roads lead back to Tullamore this June Bank Holiday where he will be going for gold again!
