Best of luck to David Wajrak this weekend in the All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships in SETU Sports Arena, Carriganore, Waterford. David will compete in the Junior Boys 3,500m. After having a very successful cross country campaign so far, winning the South Leinster and finishing 8th in the Leinsters, David will have high expectations for himself. Give it your best David, we are all behind you! ‍️

A massive congratulations to our Senior Debaters who have progressed to the finals of the Griffith College Legal Debating Schools Competition in Dublin!!  St. Mary’s CBS Portlaoise were one of the eight teams in the country chosen to take part in the competition on the 24th March in Griffith College Dublin. Pictured here are some of our debating team this morning, after finding out the news yesterday evening. Some members are missing from the photo including captain Luke Walsh, who submitted a 1000 word essay on behalf of the team. What a fantastic achievement guys! Preparation for the final starts now.
1st Year Science Take Advantage of the Weather!

1st Year Science took advantage of the rare appearance of snow today. They learned about different types of precipitation and how they are formed. Some students viewed snow under microscopes then found the density of it. Others applied their knowledge of the scientific method to answer the question- Does salt effect the rate at which snow melts?
