Thursday's Carol Service

Ms,. McGowan and her choir are currently practicing for the Carol Service on Thursday afternoon. The service is being co ordinated by Mr Tynan and will include the lighting of candles by the youngest student in the school and a few readings reflecting on the time of year. Don't forget the Christmas Jumper Day on Friday. €2 will be collected in tutorial with all proceeds going to the St Francis Hospice in Blanchardstown. Ms O'Hare is encouraging as many students as possible to get involved.

Well done to Mr Maxwell and the 6th Year students who collected 4 hampers for the local conference of St. Vincent de Paul. In order to increase the awareness of the work done by SVP the TY class recently participated in two workshops on social injustice, both facilitated by Neil Lacey (SVP Youth Development Officer). In the New Year the TY class will decide on a contemporary issue that they can investigate themselves.
U 16 Hurling Victory

The U 16 Hurling team, managed by Mr Williams, won the Meath County Final yesterday. Athboy CS defeated Dunboyne CC by a score line of 0-12 to 1-5. Athboy CS were down by 2 points at half time but showed great determination and skill to pull away in the second half. The U 14 Hurling panel and the U 16 Camogie panel provided great vocal support from the side lines! Well done to all involved and best of luck in the upcoming Leinster semi - final.

Athboy CS Junior Rugby team had a great win over Coláliste na h Inse today, The team, managed by Ms Fitzgerald, won by a scoreline of 34 - 24.

Well done to both the Senior and Junior Irish Debating Teams who qualified for round two of the Diospoireacht Ghael Linn. Both teams are tutored by Ms. Ni Shuilleabháin. Commiserations to the Senior Hurling team who were narrowly defeated by St Pats , Navan in Dunganny today. The team, managed by Mr.Costello, put in a determined display but lost on a final scoreline of 2-5 to 2-11.
