Our German exchange students had a great day in Munich where they got to experience German culture and see some of the main landmarks.
The day began with a trip up the iconic Frauenkirche to get a view over Munich. This was followed by a look around the Viktualienmarkt, a traditional German market in the centre of Munich.
The group then had a break at the Hofbräuhaus where they enjoyed some traditional German music and some pretzels.
We then walked through Odeonsplatz over to the Englishergarten to have a look at the famous Eisbachsurfers.
A highlight for many of the group was a trip to the Allianz Arena where Bayern Munich play their home games. The group concluded a busy day with dinner in the city centre.
Well done to the Transition Year girls football team who had a convincing win over FCJ Bunclody today in their cup semi-final. The Carnew side started off strong with 4 consecutive goals from Leanne Twamley, Laois Doran and Emma Cullen.
A further 8 points were added to the scoreboard by Poppy Jordan, Karen O’Brien, Emma Cullen, Leah Doran and Caoimhe Kinsella. Carnew led 4-8 to no score at half time. FCJ Bunclody battled hard in the second half, keeping Carnew to minimal scoring.
The final score was Coláiste Bhríde: 5-8, FCJ Bunclody: 1-2.
The girls now look forward to the cup final against Loreto Wexford on Saturday the 16th of November. Well done girls!

Senior Camogie vs. FCJ Bunclody
On Wednesday morning, the Senior camogie team travelled to Bunclody to play FCJ. The team had a very good first half with scores coming from Aine Darcy, Leanne Twamley, Aoife Molloy and Sarah Doyle. At half time the score was 2-5 to 0-6 in favour of FCJ. Despite being down at half time, the girls managed to get an equalising score late into the second half through great defending and shooting. With 2 minutes to go, the Carnew side struck a point to take victory.
Full Time Score:
Colaiste Bhride Carnew: 1-11
FCJ:2-7
Well done to the team and their coaches Mr Fitzgerald and Ms Sinnott!
The LC History class visited Avondale House, the home of CS Parnell a key personality on their Irish History course. The students had a guided tour of the house and learnt a lot more about Parnell's family life. He was one of eleven children and would go on to campaign for Home Rule for Ireland along with trying to secure more rights for tenants. At one stage he was heralded as the "Uncrowned King of Ireland" It was a very enjoyable trip and equipped the students with additional material on Parnell that they can now use in their upcoming LC exam.
Well done to our Junior hurling team who has a very convincing win at home to Portlaoise CBS yesterday. Having drawn with Creagh College in the first group match, this was almost a must win game for the CB boys and they delivered in spades. Well done to Mr Morris, Mr Nolan and their entire squad, all of whom got game time yesterday. They eagerly await an upcoming south Leinster semi final.
Well done lads.
The senior footballers had a convincing win today against Tyndall College in our first South Leinster championship match. In ideal footballing conditions the young senior panel moved the ball extremely well and took some lovely scores. Thanks to coach, Mr Holly and to Mr. Hegarty for assisting and best of luck to all the lads involved in county finals this weekend.
The Junior girls football team had a convincing win over Gorey Community school on Tuesday, with a scoreline of 4-19 to 2-10.
