Green Schools Committee Display

Last year our Green Schools committee, with the help of Solas students, created a display made from recycled bottle caps. The students collected, sorted, arranged, and designed the piece of art. The display is a tree with flowers, on top of the world and our school motto. They really enjoyed this project and it can be seen it in our GPA. #fromeachtheirbest #greenschool @greenschoolsire
Walk to School Week!

‍️Walk to school week takes place from September 19th to September 23rd. We are asking students and parents to make an extra effort this week to either walk to school/ work or walk part of the way there. ‍️ Walking to school is one of the best ways to start the day with multiple benefits to student's physical and mental health. It also has a positive impact on academic performance and behaviour with higher levels of concentration and focus.
1st Year Vaccination Forms

Vaccination Forms are being sent home with a number of 1st years today. Please ask your son has he one. If so, please sign and return tomorrow morning. The nurses are here today and tomorrow, and that will be your last chance to avail of having the vaccine administered to your son in school. Thank you.

Congratulations to past pupil Zach Tuohy on reaching his second AFL Grand Final with Gee Long Cats. He will make his 250th professional appearance next weekend. We are so proud of you Zach! What a role model for our students!
Wednesday 21st September- school closes at 1.15

Next Wednesday, September 21st, we are ending classes at 1.15. All students will go home at that time. Unfortunately buses will not be running until 4pm. Staff will be doing important training for the afternoon, but the 1st year 'bonding trip' with Mr Brennan, their Year Head will go ahead as planned. It could be an idea for your son to visit the ploughing match that day rather than taking another school day off during the week to go to Rathineska. We apologise for whatever inconvenience this will cause you. Thank you and have a good weekend.

Some of our Transition Year students did some fantastic work litter picking around the school grounds today. Litter can lead to soil, water and air pollution! Let’s all make a conscious effort to clean up our act. Thanks so much to our TY’s for making a positive contribution to our school and local community!
