Transition Year Mock Trial - Ms. Hyland held a Mock Trial with her Transition Year Debating and Public Speaking Students. The accused, Pat Plaice, was played by Daniel Corbett and the plaintiff Gabby Codd was played by Eoin O’Kelly. Despite new evidence and video footage produced on the day, the accused was found not guilty by the jury (comprised of other TY students)!! The TY students and Ms. Hyland voted barrister William Barrett as best actor on the day. Well done guys.
6th Year Graduation

Our 6th Year Graduation will be celebrated on Wednesday the 25th at 7:30pm in our Nagle Rice Sports hall. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend with your sons. The theme of our celebration is Me, You and Us. We look forward to marking this milestone with our students. We are also really looking forward to seeing all our 6th Years in tomorrow for their last day. There will be a final assembly with Ms. Murphy at 1pm which all students should attend. Any students involved in the ceremony are asked to remain on the premises after the assembly for a rehearsal. Thank you.
Looking for host families for Spanish students enrolling in our school in September 2022

Next September, several Spanish students are enrolling in our school across several year groups, mostly 1st, 2nd and 5th years. They are coming through us via Shannon Academy who have worked with many schools in the Midlands and are very reputable. If you are curious or interested about keeping one of these students, please read the accompanying poster.
3rd Year Mass

Today we held our annual 3rd Year mass to gather our students together before they embark on different journeys into Transition Year, 5th Year and LCA. The theme this year was resilience. Thanks to Ms. Foley and the other 3rd Year Religion teachers for organising and to the students who took part and carried themselves so well. We wish our 3rd Year students all the best in their last couple of weeks in school before their exams.
Teac Tom Visit

Last week Teac Tom came in to speak to our TY and 5th year students. The students, along with the help of Ms. Lewens and Ms. Quinn, organised a bake sale and a coffee morning for students and staff to help raise money for this worthy cause. Almost €600 was raised and the students presented a cheque to Teac Tom. Teac Tom are a community based suicide intervention, mental health awareness and bereavement support charity. The kindness and generosity of our school community is something we are always so proud of. Well done to all our students, Ms. Lewens and Ms. Quinn for organising #fromeachtheirbest
Student Leadership Trip!

It’s the time of year for trips, before we settle into exam season! Pictured here are our Student Leadership representatives on their trip to Tibradden Wood and Zipit. Zipit is nestled in the fabulous pine forest of Tibradden Wood (known locally as Pine Forest) in the Dublin Mountains. Thanks to Ms. Foley for organising this trip - it got a thumbs up from all!
Society and Politics Guest Speaker

John Melvin, Director with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities, came in to talk to Ms. Lalor's Politics & Society class on Friday about policy making, legislation and appearing in front of Joint Oireachtas Committees. The students got to hear first hand how a bill makes it into law. Thanks to Ms. Lalor for organising, the students really enjoyed it #societyandpolitics #thelaw
Awards Night 2022

Our official Awards Night took place on Wednesday night. A wide variety of awards were presented to 6th years and to other recipients from various aspects of school life. It is our chance to formally recognise the commitment and hard work of students throughout the school year, especially 6th years. The prestigious awards went to Micheal McEvoy (From each their best), David O'Brien (The Martin Conroy Award), and DJ White (Student of the Year). Congratulations to all award recipients on the night and many thanks to the guest speakers and the teachers who helped make it such a successful occasion.
SUMMER EXAMS

This year summer exams are in class running from Thursday 26th may to the 3rd of June inclusive. 5thyr and 2nd yr exams will run over 2 one hour sessions and 1styr will have 2 forty five minute exams in each subject. Students will go to their timetabled class where exams as per the timetable will be handed out by their teacher. Attendance for the duration is very important for all students as some exams will determine the levels at which they sit for the state exams. Best of Luck to all.
