Request your tickets online before Friday 29 July 2022
With more than a week remaining before the deadline of 29 July, about 75% of expected tickets have been successfully requested on the Family Portal. While traffic on the website remains at unprecedented levels, the technology upgrades are improving the website performance and batches of tickets have started to be sent for printing.
For anyone wishing to confirm that their request was successfully submitted, they can check by logging in to their account. They will see the screen following which states “Your ticket request has been acknowledged.”
We’d like to remind everyone that:
People who had already made a payment or who had input their medical card details prior to the Government announcement on fees do not need to take any further action. For those who made payments a refund will be issued around the start of the school year
Everyone who had applied before 29 April 2022 – that is those applying for school transport for the first time, changing from primary to post-primary and those who may be changing school - and who had not submitted a payment or medical card number are required to complete the request ticket process, before the closing date of Friday 29 July
Those who had availed of school transport last year and in previous years and who would usually pay at this time of year are required to complete the ticket request process by Friday 29 July, as set out in the email sent directly to them
Any new applications being received now will be deemed late
All applications are being processed in line with normal eligibility criteria and as usual, registering for a ticket does not guarantee a place will be available

The Government has announced initiatives to assist families with children returning to school in September, including removing fees from school transport for the coming academic year.
The Department of Education announcement and answers to frequently asked questions can be found here.
The Family Portal had been closed to avoid further payments being made and to allow the reconfiguration of the system to facilitate this change. The Portal has reopened from Friday 15 July 2022 and you can request your school transport ticket here.
Full refunds will be made to people who have paid to date.
Applications for the school year 2022/23 must have been made by Friday 29 April 2022. All applications received after that date are deemed late, and may not be guaranteed a seat or a service.
Applications for pupils with special educational needs arising from a diagnosed disability should be made through The National Council for Special Education.

Archived : 21 Aug 2022, 12:00 AM
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Just a quick update regarding our school skiing trip to Italy during St. Patrick’s weekend in March 2023.
The second installment is now due.
The following payments are to be made to Halsbury Travel LTD.
1. €200 Non-Refundable deposit
2. €250 2nd installment NOW DUE
3. €485 before the 30th of November 2022
€935Total payment to Halsbury Travel
4. €15To be given to Mr Walsh in the school a week before travel. This is for transfers to and from the airport in Ireland.
If parents/Guardians want, they can pay the full amount in one €935 installment to Halsbury.
Payment Details for Halsbury:
Bank Name: Natwest
IBAN:GB80NWBK60720904285077
BIC:NWBKGB2L
PLEASE NOTE - The IBAN for the 2nd installment remains the same as the 1st (as above). Previously we had thought there may have been a new IBAN provided for the 2nd installment but that is no longer the case.
When making payment to Halsbury, please use your son’s name and Portlaoise is used as a reference e.g. Joe Blogs, Portlaoise.
Don’t use Parent/Guardians name as a reference as this can lead to a lot of confusion identifying individual payments made for your son.
If you have any questions or queries in relation to the trip, please feel free to contact the school, leave your name and number and I’ll get back to you at the earliest convenience.
Kind Regards
James Walsh

Calendar for Parents for the 2022-23 School Year-please note date of Open Night
Created : 03 Jun 2022, 2:46 PM
Archived : 12 Aug 2022, 12:00 AM
We have come to the end of a really good year! So many fun activities took place, in addition to the return to face to face learning and teaching. We began many new initiatives and the enthusiasm for this activity was obvious. At last we were able to appreciate being able to meet. travel, run sporting events, look at each other properly and speak without masks,
During the last 2 years I really had no idea what kind of predictions to make as regards parent teacher meetings or anything else. This year I think I am safe to say that the Calendar presented to you here will be the Calendar we will follow for the Parent Teacher Meetings, Open Night, Mock Exams, other in house exams, etc. The days on which each class group starts back in August are here and in particular the first few days for the new 1st years are also here. So you can plan your summer's coming and going in late August around those days.
It will also be put up in the App Calendar and on VSware, but I think it is nice to have it all on one page to print off and put up someplace at home to take a quick look at.
I wish you all a relaxing and memorable summer - hopefully the weather picks up soon! Take care and stay safe.
