Skiing reminder

Dear Parents/Guardians,
There will be a school skiing trip to Italy during St. Patrick’s weekend in March 2023. The resort we will be staying in is Hotel Marguareis, Artesina. The price of the trip is €950, depending on number participation.
If your son is interested in coming on the trip the following payments are to be made to Halsbury Travel LTD.
1. €200 Non-Refundable deposit by the 29th of April 2022
2. €2501st instalment by the 27th of May 2022
3. €4852nd instalment before the 30th of November 2022
€935Total payment to Halsbury Travel
4. €15To be given to Mr Walsh in the school a week before travel.
This is for transfers to and from the airport in Ireland.
If parents/Guardians want, they can pay the full amount in one €935 instalment to Halsbury.

1st Yr Football win

Our 1st yr footballers had a comprehensive win over Tullow CS (Carlow) on Tuesday last in their semi-final. They are now in the 1st Yr Football final against Cnoc Mhuire, Granard. The final will take place next Wednesday, May 4th at 12.15pm in Granard. Eircode N39 D450. Best of luck to the lads, to Mr. Lowry and Mr White, and thanks to John Dunne for the excellent pictures of the semi-final win.

Competition Time - Today is Poetry Day Ireland 2022 and the theme is 'Written in the Stars'. To mark the occasion and to encourage our students to explore the world of poetry, the English Department are running a competition. To enter, all you have to do is write a poem based on the theme of ‘Written in the Stars’. Please submit this poem to your English teacher. There will be a prize for the overall winner in Junior Cycle, Transition Year and Senior Cycle. Best of luck.

Parenting during the COVID-19 pandemic is a unique challenge for all parents, caregivers and families. Children and parents are anxious, and families are under pressure like never before. Being a parent to a child/teenager who is experiencing anxiety can be tough.
Anxious children / teenagers can seek constant reassurance have outbursts of anger / frustration and can feel sick when worried. Parenting has a crucial role to play in mitigating the potential long-term negative impacts of COVID-19 on children, particularly in relation to mental health.

Supporting Transitions from Primary School to Post-Primary School - Workshop for Parents 12.5.2022
This information webinar in collaboration with the National Parents Council will explore some of the key elements in preparing your child for post-primary school. For first time parents, the session in collaboration with the National parents Council will give you an understanding of what secondary school is like. We’ll look at ways in which parents can support their child through this time bearing in mind that going to First Year also coincides with adolescence for a young person.
The session will also give a brief overview of the Junior Cert and provide some website links where parents can keep on top of developments as their child moves forward. Furthermore, we will briefly look at the structure of parent/teacher meetings, home school communication and people your child might meet in post primary school.
