Last Tuesday, 29th March, St. Mary's CBS U17 Soccer team played the Midlands League Final Vs Naas CBS. After a strong start to the game and numerous chances, the lads were unlucky not to take the lead. Naas had a super 20 mins and scored 3 goals to end the half 3-0 up. Chasing the game then was always an uphill but credit to the players they never gave up and fought valiantly to the end, with the game ending 5-2. A disappointing ending to a fantastic season. The school is very proud of all the lads and their coaches Mr. Glavin and Ms. Hyland. Well done on an excellent year!

Summer Programme 2022 - Invitation Letters sent home with 1st yr students today.

This year, for the first time, we will run the Summer Programme which is designed and financed by the Department of Education and Skills in order to support those students who have one of several reasons why they could benefit from the extra time in school. We will focus mainly on the 1st years and if your son has missed a significant number of school days during the 2021-22 school year, it will especially benefit him, We will begin on Tuesday 7th June until Friday 17th June, running each day from 10 am -3 pm. The lunch is free and there is no cost whatsoever to the student. The Programme will include: Literacy, Numeracy, PE, Life Skills and IT skills. This will be covered in a more relaxed and enjoyable setting than during term time. Letters are being sent home with the students whom we have considered most likely to benefit from taking part. As there is just a week left, we need to know by this Wednesday how many will take part. If your son has received a letter to take home, you will receive a text from the school this morning. I hope you and your son will consider this offer. I understand that most students wish to finish for the summer this coming Friday, and may take some persuasion from you, but I know that the programme will be worthwhile and fun. It will not be all classroom. There will be coding, cooking, PE, and more to fill the days. But they will also be helped to catch up with their literacy and numeracy and the maximum class size will be 12. If your 1st year son did not receive a letter and you feel that he would benefit from the 9 day Programme, please ring the school, leave your number and I will ring you back. Thank you.
