Tús maith, leath an hoibre - a good start, is half the battle. Maith sibh to everyone who recently completed their mock exams. These exams are a great opportunity to make a good start at the rest of the exam preparation and to halve the workload. Go n-éirí an t-ádh libh go léir. #snag #arscáthachéile #fromeachhisbest

Giorraíonn beirt bóthar- a problem shared is a problem halved. This seanfhocal directly translates to ‘two shorten the road’ which also rings true that two can lighten a load. Anseo in the CBS, we encourage everyone to seek guidance and support if and when it is needed. Nobody should have to suffer alone. Help is always here. #snag #arscáthachéile #fromeachhisbest

Each year, we hold an information evening for all 6th class students who have enrolled with us for September. This year, that date will be Wednesday March 30th at 7pm, in person, in our school.
This Information Evening will hopefully give you the answers to many of your questions around: Book Rental, iPads, booklists, classes, Induction Day, extra learning supports to be put into place for students, VSware, School App, making payments, subject options and much more.
It is advisable that at least one parent / guardian for each student try to attend that evening. You will have an opportunity to ask questions in person, Mr Geoff Brennan who will be your son's Year Head in September, will be present and very involved in the evening.
Parents/guardians, students, staff - all invited to contribute to producing a new Communication Policy

In this age of so many new means of communication, the old rules which maintained some form of order and respect have largely been forgotten and overwritten by everyone, allowing for an 'anything goes' sort of system. We have Unique App, our website, school journals, emails, texts, VSware, WhatsApp, MS Forms, Teams and many more communication platforms in use across school life.
As we return to normal life, this policy is being produced to create acceptable and organised practices in how we communicate with each other, learn of information, can expect the information we put out to be noticed and all of that.
We have engaged a facilitator, Blaithnaidh Colhourn, a former school principal and mediator, to gather the views and suggestion of all our stakeholders - parents/guardians, students and the entire staff - those who wish to contribute. She will be present in the school next Wednesday, March 16th, from 8.30am to 4.30am for any parent, along with students and staff members, to drop in for a short chat with her around how information is shared and what works and what doesn't, what could be tweaked. She will collate the information gathered at the end of this day and present her findings to us the following week. I will communicate this through the App to parents. This will then form the basis of our new Communication Policy.
We hope that a good representation of the parents/guardians in our school community avail of this opportunity to contribute. Thank you.
