Sean has been selected on the Irish team of eight that will compete. He qualified for the event thanks to his performances at the Irish National Championships back in March. The junior students represented the school in day 1 of the South Leinster Track and Field in Waterford today. Busy collecting medals was Anthony Idris who won the triple jump effortlessly with a huge jump of 11.54metres. Just before he jumped a height of 1.50m in the high jump and was 4th in a tough javelin competition. Next up on the podium was Aaron Foley. Following his successful form in the Laois Schools, Aaron secured 2nd place in the shot putt. His best throw of the day was 9.27metres. Congrats to both athletes who will progress to Leinsters in two weeks. Other students who did well on the day was Desmond Peter unfortunate not to get to the 100m final losing out in times by a very small margin. Well done to everyone today!
Tusla have asked us to bring this to parents’ attention.
