TY Christmas Carolling

On Thursday the TYs, spread the Christmas spirit through carolling. We made a visit to the Ballard Lodge Nursing Home where we sang songs and danced. The lads found the experience impactful. Then we made a stop by Little Treasures preschool and sang in through the window to the class. A final stop was made at Coco’s shop as our group was divided among the two side walls and we competed in having the best rendition of “Feliz Navidad”. Well done to all involved. TY students really enjoyed a chat with Shane Casey last week about Mental Health. Shane spoke about confidence and communication and from student feedback they thought he did very well to talk about these topics in an interesting and entertaining way while being very sound and down to earth with the group. Our Senior Rugby Team also won their Final!

To win one Final on a day is great. To win two is fantastic, and that is what the CBS Rugby teams did yesterday in Donnybrook!

Our Senior Rugby Team’ winning score was 18–12. Matthew Coonan kicked a great penalty, the last play of the game to absolutely secure the victory. Overall, it was a terrific, spirited and passionate performance all round. A big shoutout to all the supporters who created a fantastic atmosphere throughout both games. Well done to Mr Ryan and his team! 

Just as nice to hear were the compliments of the match organisers on the gentlemanly behaviour which both our supporters and team members exhibited throughout the day. We are very proud of you all.

Work is under way on creating a new Digital Learning Plan for our school and students were recently surveyed about their use of digital technologies & online safety. These statistics show much progress is needed in the area of online safety and students can expect new initiatives that will tackle these issues over the coming months/years. CBS Code Club members were hard at work again this week. Work continued on Scratch & Python modules. Students were also introduced to MakeCode Arcade where they can create retro arcade games using block-based coding! #Coding #CodeClub
Reminder for Rugby supporters

A reminder for those travelling on the supporters bus to the Rugby games tomorrow. You need to bring a WARM coat, hat, gloves etc. and a packed lunch. Leave class at 11:15am. Money to Mr Ryan at 8:50 in the morning. Returning to school for 5:30pm.
