This week we are celebrating Science Week 2022. ‍
There are activities happening throughout the week, both in and out of the labs, including talks from guest speakers, some of whom are past students.
To ensure everyone in the school can participate, there are 26 questions on the board in the GPA. Fill in your answers, your name and year and submit to Ms. Broomfield in RG09 at any lunchtime this week to claim your prize.
We are also running a poster competition with a cash prize for all juniors students.
Be scientifically creative while incorporating this year's Science Week theme: Infinite Possibilities.
All entries submitted to Ms. Barrett in RG11 by 4pm on Thursday for judging. Prize awarded on Friday.

Student Insurance is compulsory

Student insurance is compulsory for all. Every student does PE and many do extracurricular sports. Sometimes accidents happen in class, on the corridor or on the hard courts at lunch time. Students go on tours, occasionally walk to venues in the town for activities, etc. Although always supervised, accidents can happen.

It was asked of everyone before the summer that this payment is made by the start of September. Insurance costs €10 per student. It can be paid on the School App through the Shop Tab. Please pay as soon as possible, thank you very much. MM

️Our u17 soccer team drew 2-2 with Patrician Catholic secondary school Newbridge️

Our u17 Soccer team had an away trip to play Patrician Secondary School in Newbridge in the u17 Midlands Division 1 League. After only a few minutes into the game Darren Brennan slotted a lovely free kick into the top corner ️. Patrician’s got one back later in the first half but the boys kept their heads up. Early in the second half Patrician’s got another goal to make it 2-1. The CBS kept fighting and Conor O’Callaghan got the late goal for the draw with just a few minutes to go.
Well done lads️

Thanks to TY students for the match report, photos and footage

Check out both goals on the school Instagram and Facebook pages!

Heywood was the next venue for the Pre Laois Schools Cross Country Championships. Tough underfoot and weather conditions didn't deter the lads performance.

Highlights of the day came from our Junior Boys who packed in well over the 2k race. The Dawid and Daniel battle continues, Dawid coming out on top crossing the line in a very strong front running performance! Well done. Daniel followed closely behind finished in 2nd place. A strong run from Kayden also who finished in 5th place.

Well done to all who competed. Training will be on next Wednesday after school for anyone interested in joining! ‍️
