CBS Code Club members were hard at work again this week. Work continued on Scratch & Python modules. Students were also introduced to MakeCode Arcade where they can create retro arcade games using block-based coding! #Coding #CodeClub

A reminder for those travelling on the supporters bus to the Rugby games tomorrow.
You need to bring a WARM coat, hat, gloves etc. and a packed lunch.
Leave class at 11:15am.
Money to Mr Ryan at 8:50 in the morning.
Returning to school for 5:30pm.

Congratulations to the winning team of the Second Year Debating Championship 2022 Daniel Downey, Eoghan Deegan, Conor Dunne and David Wajrak.
Thanks to all the teachers involved and especially to the adjudicators Ms D. Carrol, Mr Thompson, Ms McEntee and Ms Byrne for sharing their time and expertise.
Well done to all the talented participants in the championship, the future of debating at the CBS looks bright.

The Green Schools Committee have come up with some tips for shopping more environmentally friendly this Christmas.
1. Shop in store- There are short distances between the buyer and the retailer, it is environmentally friendly to shop in store.
2. Limit the numbers of orders you make- The reduction of unnecessary transport routes by combining orders, so that not every part is ordered and transported individually from a different dealer at intervals of a few days.
3. Buy less- Ultimately, buying less is the best way to reduce your shopping’s carbon footprint. Often we buy unnecessary things we don’t need or don’t use – for example, every fifth garment bought is never worn. So, consider carefully whether you really need a product and find out exactly what you need in advance.

The Student Council helped us all get in the Christmas mood today by organising Festive Tuesday. They organised music in the GPA to start our day and encouraged everyone to wear a festive outfit. Demi Sonupe and Ibrahim Ahmed were our best dressed and won selection boxes for making an extra effort with their outfits. Well done to everyone for getting involved! #fromeachhisbest

Mary Mulhare, our Biology and PE teacher, has won the Bronze medal with the Irish Team in the European Cross Country championships , one of the toughest events in Athletics. Her years of training and dedication have certainly paid off this weekend! Well done Mary, the whole school is very proud of you!
