As part of the updated Junior Cycle SPHE programme, 1st , 2nd and 3rd year students will be completing the updated module on Relationships and Sexuality (RSE), beginning the week of February 19th.

Hi. Hope all work experience is going well.
The company planning the Italy trip have requested the following 
:passport details must be uploaded onto the information portal asap as we know a few are waiting on passports to arrive
:The deposit of €300 was due on the 15th Jan 
:the final payment must be made on or before the 16th March to the company. All questions re payments are to go directly to the company www.schooltour.ie . The lady dealing with the Athboy trip is called Rita Pinto. Once all
Payments are made I will send out the itinerary.Kind regards.

Dear parents and guardians,

We have had a wonderful week of our musical, The Adams Family. It's been so great to see our students absolutely shine - the production is just great, so enjoyable.  Well done to our amazing students, to our fabulous director Jacqui MacGowan and all of the staff who have helped out with it from the set, to makeup and backstage.  The show goes on this evening and finishes on Saturday. Hope to see many of you there.

 
At our Staff Meeting on Tuesday,  we rolled out our Positive Behaviour Plan, the Learning Code and we will be trialing it with our First Years from 26 April to 10 May.  We will be inviting First Year parents to join us in a Teams call on their child's laptop so they can find out more about the pilot.
 
 
Mock Exams
We are all set to go for Mocks next week for 3rd and 6th Years, please check your child's timetable to avoid confusion.  Do ensure that the fees for Mock exams are paid, email me in confidence if there's an issue at cgarrihy@athboycs.ie.
 
Uniform
We will be having uniform spot checks on Monday for students as it has slipped a little.
 
LCA Trip
5th and 6th Year LCA students had a to Trim on Monday as part of Module 3 'Recreation and The Community'.
 
Junior Boys Football
Athboy CS   9-15  Lanesboro CC 1-1 A good performance was had in very poor conditions in Dungany. All 32 players players togged played a part in the win. Athboy now progresses into the 1/4 final after topping our group.
 
Basketball - Girls
Ms Watson fielded a team - Athboy  v Kells Home and we won 40 - 10. Well done to Shannon and the team!
 
Iceskating
Ice Skating trip went ahead this week for those students who got full attendance in November.  Keep it up!

Payment of Mock Exam Fees

With the Mocks beginning on Monday (6th Year) and Tuesday (3rd Year) - mock fees are now overdue and are payable through the school website. Thanks to those who have already made payment.  Please ensure they are paid before your son/daughter commences their exams.

Well done to our fantastic first year girls basketball team who secured a win of 40-10 over St. Ciarán’s Community School this week. A brilliant performance by all players involved. 
Musical Tickets

Big effort needed to fill the house for today and tomorrows Musical production of the Addams Family. The cast and crew deserve a full house each evening to reward them for the massive effort that has been put in over the last few months.

Tickets are available from the school or on the door the next two nights.

Show starts at 730 sharp, its a fantastic production. A dark but comical 2 hours of family entertainment, please support your local community school.

 
6th Year Mock Exam Arrangements

The structure of the 6th Year mock exam timetable, particularly in week 2,  will mean that students may not be in school for full days during these two weeks.

 

If students do not have an exam for a particular day or exam session, we would encourage them to study at home. We will provide a study room for those that cannot study at home.

 

Parents must use the SCHOOL APP to send in a note if their son/daughter is arriving late/leaving early unaccompanied during the normal school day. This derogation only applies for the duration of the mocks. 

 

Parents must take responsibility for the whereabouts of there son/daughter at these times and ensure they know where they are.
