We look forward to returning to school tomorrow. A reminder that students should come to school at 10.40am tomorrow to facilitate staff planning for 2022/2023.
Dr. John Cuddihy, Acting HSE National Clinical Director of Health Protection, has sent the following information to schools and has requested that we forward it to teachers and students:
Symptom profiles are available here: www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/symptoms/overview/.
We advise parents to take a precautionary approach, particularly for children less able to articulate their symptoms, that if a child appears unwell, observe them at home and contact their GP as appropriate.
Close contacts: If you have been told by the HSE services that your child is a close contact of a case of Covid-19, then you need to adhere to the advice on the HSE website in relation to restricted movements and testing. Children under 13 years who are household close contacts must restrict their movements for 14 days and they are offered PCR testing at day 0 and day 10. On receipt of a day 10 not-detected PCR test result, they may exit restricted movements. It is important that anyone who has been identified as a close contact, is very aware of COVID-19 symptoms, and isolate and undergo testing should they develop any symptoms.
The latest advice on the free antigen tests available through the HSE for those aged 4-39 who are symptomatic or for children whose parents are symptomatic is available here: www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/testing/antigen-testing/
We would also remind students to have sufficient face masks on hand and to redouble their efforts around COVID-19 hygiene. There is a HEPA filter in each classroom.
Further information can be found at:

www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/ For education specific guidance, please see: www.gov.ie/en/campaigns/a128d-back-to-school/
A reminder that any student who is symptomatic should remain at home.
Finally, a big thank you to our students and their families for the incredible support last term. We wish all of you the very best for 2022.

The First Year Parent Teacher meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, January 25th from 16:15 to 18:45.
This year, due to ongoing Covid 19 restrictions, we will conduct the meeting online using a Parent Teacher Meeting Organiser website called PTMO and MS Teams.
To register for the meeting you must log on to the Parent Teacher Meeting Organiser and input your preferences. The attached pdf document will guide you through the full process including the meeting links for each of the teachers.
Please note that registration for the meeting will close on Monday at 9:00am to allow time for scheduling. Your timetable will be published via PTMO by Monday evening.
The parent teacher meeting is intended to provide a brief overview of academic attainment in the nine subjects that your child will take for the Junior Cycle examinations. There will not be time for a detailed conversation. If you need to talk to a teacher in detail about a concern of any kind then please make an appointment by emailing the relevant teacher or contacting the office.

This includes the time before school when phones are also banned. Students should read, chat, laugh and catch up with their friends if they arrive to school before classes start.
Thank you for your support with this.

Procreate app for iPad
Created : 15 Dec 2021, 12:23 PM
Archived : 14 Jan 2022, 12:00 AM
Following a recent student survey carried out by the student council, your child requested the app Procreate to be added to their iPad device.
For information on Procreate see procreate.art/
As this is a paid app, at a cost of €10.99, the standard procedure for this at Goatstown ETSS is, for each family to contact wriggle directly and make payment over the phone. Following payment the app is then pushed directly to your child's iPad. This is to avoid the scenario of a family credit card being set up on a student device without supervision.
To place an order for Procreate, please contact a member of the Wriggle Customer Support Team on 01-500 9060. You will need to provide them with the serial number of your child's device which can be found on the iPad in Settings/General/About.
