Reminder: First Year Information Evening - Monday 6th September at 7pm

Reminder: A First Year information webinar for parents, guardians and carers takes place today at 7pm. The webinar will be hosted by Jonathan, principal, Matthew, deputy principal and Clodagh, year coordinator. Clodagh Keher, Administrator, will be on hand to monitor the chat in case there are any questions at the end. She will have access to the school phone from 6.50pm if there are problems logging on. We will cover a range of important information about your child's day-to-day experience of life at Goatstown ETSS. The webinar will take approximately 50-60 minutes. Important Update - return to school

Dear all, We can confirm that we can all return to the school building from tomorrow Wednesday 26th May as normal. Classes start as normal at 8:40am. Gentle reminder: The "return to educational facility" consent form that was sent out earlier today must be filled in before students return to school tomorrow.

End of year activities

Dear Parents/Guardians/Carers & Students It is hard to believe we are approaching the final week of the year. We will continue with normal classes next week and are really looking forward to some end of year fun. We have organised: * the premier of the movie, made by and starring the artistic performance class, on Tuesday * The showcase of the PBL (phenomenon-based learning) project on Wednesday * End of year awards ceremony Thursday * Sports day on Friday (weather permitting) Students need to empty their lockers on Friday and bags might be heavy that day. Students will finish at 15:16 on Friday 28th May. The way in which we facilitate next week’s activities will depend on whether we are permitted to return to school. If we are unable to physically return to the school premises, we will run as many of these activities online as possible. Keep an eye out for notifications confirming details about our return to school.

Dear Parents, Guardians and carers, we have noticed that only having one land line has caused some issues for dropping off or collecting students at non standard times. We know that you are frustrated with the red door being locked, this is however is essential for child protection in the primary school and for COVID prevention protocols. To counter this we now have a second mobile phone number that Matthew will monitor throughout the day. This phone line will also be the school trips and tours phone if you need to contact anybody urgently during a school trip. You should only use this phone number if you cannot get through to the main office landline. The day to day purpose of this phone is to contact Matthew to let him know that you are trying to collect your child early, drop off your child at a non standard time late in the day, but only in the event that you cannot reach anybody on the Goatstown landline. Main office hours are 8am to 1:30pm. The number is 0873382664, please store this on your phone in the event that you cannot contact the main office.

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians, We are excited to launch our brand new home grown homework policy. We have taken on board the student, parent and teacher feedback we sought earlier this year about homework and we have created a policy to support learning through homework for our Goatstown ETSS community. The full policy that contains more detail and the roles and responsibilities of teachers, students and parents can be found on our website.
