Senior Cup FINAL

Dear Parent / Guardian

We are looking forward to our Senior Cup Final on Tuesday next, 12th March, against our old rivals CBC in Musgrave Pk. at 2.00 pm. The excitement is mounting!

As part of the occasion, Tuesday will be a ‘Black and White’ day in the college where all students (and Staff!) are encouraged to wear the school colours. In keeping with our tradition of recent years, all students will be asked to donate €2 for Preslink as part of this non-uniform day.

As we will be travelling from the school in great numbers, and because of past experiences, the following restrictions have to be put into place:

If your son wants to sit / stand with the school cohort at the match:

1.   His ticket must be purchased through Easy Payment on the school website or through the School App. Tickets cost €10.00 - this includes match entry and bus transport to the match. Bus is drop only so all students will need to make their own home. *If you are having difficulty purchasing tickets through Easy Payments, Ms. O’Donoghue will take cash from students at her office)

2.     He must travel on one of the buses organised by the school.

3.     There can be no bags, food or drink, including water bottles on the buses.

4.     School bags will be left in the College Theatre overnight so homework from Tuesday will not be looked for on Wednesday.

5.   Face painting will only be allowed at the match grounds. No face painting in school or on the bus – no exceptions!

6.     In previous years, a small number of pupils have consumed alcohol before matches and their behaviour proved to be problematic as a result, and posed a risk to the safety of themselves and those around them.

This is a school match and alcohol is not part of it.

If your son needs to drive to the match, he may be able to buy a ticket at the gate, but unfortunately, will not be able to stand with the school group. No student will be allowed enter the PBC student supporter’s area unless they were on one of our buses – NO EXCEPTIONS

As this is a school activity FULL SCHOOL RULES APPLY.

Please speak to your son in advance concerning the above and his behaviour on the day.

Thank you all for your understanding and continued support.

Finally, we wish all the players and their coaches the very best of luck.

Regards,

Fota Ecology Field Trip

All 2nd year students will be attending an ecology field trip on Thursday 7th of March in Fota wildlife park. This trip is ran in conjunction with the educational centre in Fota and we are very fortunate to be able to utilise their newly opened, purpose built educational facility.

The cost per student is €26 and the payment link is now available online on Easy Payments. This money must be paid online before the 7th of March.

The following are points to note:

- Buses will leave the school at 8:35am sharp and will return to school at 3:15pm.

- Students must wear their full PE tracksuit on the day and it is advised that they also bring a rain jacket and wear appropriate footwear. The students will be conducting a range of habitat investigations outdoors and depending on the weather they may need to bring spare clothing with them.

- Students will need to bring a packed lunch and water with them.

If your son has any additional questions, these can be raised with his Science teacher.
School Uniform and Punctuality
Created : 18 Feb 2024, 9:16 PM
Archived : 18 Apr 2024, 12:00 AM

Dear Parent / Guardian,

We look forward to welcoming back all our students from what we hope has been an enjoyable and relaxing midterm break.

We are, respectfully, asking for your support in two areas – the uniform and punctuality in the mornings.

Arriving late to school can impact the learning and teaching in the classroom, and while there will always be the isolated days, that being late is beyond our control, for the most part, everyone should present for class at 8.35. Students arriving more than 15mins late, must check in through the school office.

Wearing the school uniform or school tracksuit, identifies our students as part of our school. The uniform helps remind our students that there is an expectation of good behaviour. Some students are wearing their tracksuit on non-PE days and the tracksuit itself is often not the school PE tracksuit. Both the school uniform and the school PE tracksuit must be worn in their entirety and worn on the correct days.

We are asking you, the parents, to support us, as we address these issues on our return tomorrow.

Students continuing to arrive late without adequate explanation and students not wearing the proper school uniform or school tracksuitmay be given detention on Friday afternoons.

All of this is in an effort to help our school operate smoothly, and help provide the right environment to further enhance learning and teaching in our school. We can only do this with your support.

Please speak with your son regarding the content of this message.

We look forward to your continued support.

Kind regards
