Earth Hour - Saturday 23rd March at 8:30 pm.

On Saturday 23rd of March at 8.30pm, millions of people across the planet will unite to show they care about the future of our planet, by switching off lights for 1 hour.

It is one of the world’s biggest Environmental Actions for Nature, Climate and creation across the world.

This annual event encourages people, schools, communities, businesses & buildings of all types, to ‘Turn off’  non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8.30 to 9.30pm as a symbol of commitment to the planet – and to help create a better world for the future.

Earth hour is the moment when people across the globe unite by switching off lights to show they care about the future of our planet - our one shared home.

The point of Earth Hour is not just to save energy for one hour;  it's also a symbolic event that shows we can all make a difference in the fight against Climate Change and to help our World. If we all work together, even small little changes can make a big difference!

Let’s take time out to reflect on what nature and our Environment means to you by joining Earth Hour 2024.

Please feel free to join in -  Earth hour is a time to reflect &  'switch off' and to focus on our Planet.

It will contain important information about the year, subject choice, module choice, social work and work experience. Attendance is vital, as every parent will be required to fill and sign a Garda Vetting form for your son in advance of the work experience program and the social work program. We look forward to seeing you there, and answering any queries or questions you have about the year.

Pres. needs your vote!

Voting finishes today at 8pm.

We need everyone to vote for our film in the Fresh Cut film awards. The more votes we have, the better chance our movie makes it to the Final.

The link below will ask you what movie you are involved in. It is important you do not select our movie (Untitled Pres.). Pick any other movie from the list given, after all it's show business!!!!. Then all you need to do is vote for our movie UNTILTED PRES. (this should appear in the bottom left hand column)

Thank you for helping all involved in Pres. film studies and supporting Cian's film.

Let’s do the double in the film awards and make sure Cillian Murphy isn't the only Pres boy to win this year at the movies!

PBC Podcast- Christmas Special

PBC Podcast : Season 4, Episode 1

It’s a new year with a new cohort behind the mics as the TY podcast module crew launch their bumper Christmas show with a little something for everybody.

For the business heads, we interview local, independent cafe owner, Humphrey Porter, about building his brand over the last 21 years, coffee culture in Cork, adapting to Covid and running the immensely popular barista course for TY students in Pres for the past 7 years.

On sport, our PBC Podcast Big Interview, recorded before a live student audience, features two former professional sportsmen and now teachers here in Pres as Messrs Cian Bohane and John Kavanagh talk about their time with Munster and Cork City respectively.

We also have an interview with our own TY student, Jacob Dorris as he discusses his rise to National Champion in the febrile field of Mixed Martial Arts.

The Christmas fever builds as we introduce our seasonal radio drama, a quirky adaptation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol,’ scripted and voiced/acted by 5th years and with a wonderful cameo by 1st Year Casper Scully as the Ghost of Christmas Past!

We then hear of Christmas past in Cork City as  Eamon McCarthy, aged 91, came into Pres to tell us about growing up on the Grand Parade in the heart of the city in the 1930s and 40s.

What would Christmas be without the yellow jackets on our streets. With SHARE’s place in the Cork public’s mind firmly secured, we talk to two of its student leaders in Pres about this amazing charity 53 years after it was founded.

Finally, we sing out the show in style as staff and students collaborate to celebrate Christmas and record a beautiful hymn. Do sing along!!

A special thanks to all the staff for their support and patience and to management for their continued support for PBC podcast.

Happy Christmas everyone!!!
