Hi All, Just letting you know All 3rd Year students will be visiting Cork Mosque, Tramore Road on Thursday 13th Feb. We will be leaving at 9:35 and will be back for 11:55. We are getting a bus but students are not required to bring any money etc. One thing that we are asking is for them to be in full uniform and to be respectful of this sacred place for Muslims. Islam is a major part of the JC RE course and this visit will be helpful to the students as they prepare for their pre exams after midterm. Thank you for your cooperation with this. Alison Crowley

Interesting radio segment on smart phones and teenagers.

Please find below the link to a radio segment which we believe would be of interest to all parents. American social psychologist Jonathan Haidt was speaking to Brendan O’Connor about his new book "The Anxious Generation" and the link between technological dependency and mental ill health/ addiction/ bullying etc.

It is a most interesting interview which once again highlights the dangers of social media to the mental health of our children and teenagers. He concludes the interview with 4 helpful guidelines which can be put in place by both individuals or communities which could lead to significant and positive changes in the lives of our teenagers.

Hope it’s useful to you all.
