Cathal O'Sullivan, a past student, came in to talk to the first years about growing up in Ireland as a gay man and coming out as gay. Cathal will be back next Wednesday to talk to our second years. Cathal's talk is part of the Stand Up Awareness Week the CBS is running next week along side the Anti-Bullying Week. Stand Up Awareness Week is a time for second-level schools in Ireland to take a stand against homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying. This week is an opportunity to take steps to make spaces safe and supportive for LGBTI+ young people ️‍ #standup #onekindword

The 2nd Years received a talk with past student Karl Bracken today, who completed an Undergraduate Degree in Astronomy with Space Science. He told the lads about his studies in UCD and his fascinating Masters in Space Science and Technology Astrophysics.

TY Barista Training with Dublin Barista School

Our TY students took part in the Barista Essentials course in our school today. The highly experienced trainers came to the school with all of the equipment needed to train as a Barista. Following the practical training the students were signed up to the Online Barista Course where they will receive their certificate from the World Barista Institute. On completion students will receive a ‘TY Barista Essentials Certificate.’ The course content included: Understanding the Espresso Equipment Espresso Technique Understanding the Coffee Grinder Milk Chemistry & Milk Texturing Techniques Intro to Latte Art Designing Understanding the Coffee Menu Simulated Café Workflow Machine Cleaning
