Meitheal Leaders Farewell
Created : 20 May 2021, 9:29 AM
Archived : 20 Jul 2021, 12:00 AM
Our Meitheal Leaders were enjoying the beautiful weather with a surf lesson in Tramore yesterday. The boys co-ordinator Ms D Carroll organised the day out as ‘A thank you’ to the lads for all they have done for our 1st years this year!
It has been an extremely tough year for all year groups. Our Meitheal Leaders have worked harder than any previous groups in order to make our first years feel connected to their school community and their class group. The Leaders missed out on the essential training each Meitheal group receive each year in Castletown. They instead engaged in a one day crash course from a previous Meitheal Laeder, JB O’Byrne. However the way in which these boys have lead and supported the most junior members of our school community has been commendable.
We wish the boys every success in the future and to once again thank them for everything this year.

Well done to the TY students Aidan Keane, Tim Norton, Gary Young O’Shea, Michael Whyte, Noel Soosay, Evan Caffrey, Bola Atanda and Conor Browne along with their art teachers Sarah and Ruth Williams. What was once an eyesore on Main Street is now a vibrant mural that reflects the colours of the buildings that surround it. Big thank you to our sponsors Kieran Lilis @lillysportlaoise and Gary and Peter O’Neill @crownpaintsireland. Also @hughespharmacy and @chocokatebrowncoffeebars for supplying a steady flow of coffee to the painters. To quote @portlaoise_tidy_towns #lovewhereyoulive
